first album both has more good songs and higher highs, though "adorn" might be his best song. new one is very good at what it aims to be, which is a breezy, pleasant 40-minute record, but it isn't the trip the first was

don't really think you're listening to it right if "breezy, pleasant" is what you're getting from it

i still think "sure thing" is his best song but the rest of kaleidoscope dream kills his first album, though i really might just shove "...all" after "arch & point", i'm so used to that coming next and it's probably the greatest ADC track that didn't get reused.

what happened like why isn't it on the album? i mean only 3 of the EP songs are on the album, 2 of which were radically changed, and "Gravity" was never a huge favorite.

i've listened to it about 5 times and my favorites aren't really changing from listen to listen like with the first, and i'm not really discovering new things buried in the songs to love,

also, has anyone talked about the censored 'fuck's on "how many drinks?"? is this artistic decision, because the album has a parental advisory diclaimer, so why censor it still?

I like the little laser noises at those moments, it's probably an artistic decision.

Either that or my leaked version is ripped off from a censored stream.

yeah i mean i'm cool with it being artistic, cause those laser noises are dope, and it's a more effective by omission kinda thing then.

i think my least favorite song on this is "where's the fun in forever" although it's still a good song

i think a writer could ask this question because you can go off record or if the artist doesn't want to talk about it you can just pretend like you didn't ask it, but in a live setting like that it's pretty shitty

in a weird way i think it's kind of better for someone to be able to face down that question live on the air, compared to how gossip blogs constantly insinuate that kind of thing without asking the person directly, or even in print where they can massage the context of their answer with a bunch of "he said, as he shifted uncomfortably in his chair and quickly changed the subject" type stuff.

imo there's just a lot of sweet-voiced men singing love songs throughout the music industry, and they ain't all gay, but in R&B there's been such a strong undercurrent of hip hop bravado the last decade or two that anyone who doesn't carry themselves that way is under suspicion and it's kinda dumb.

That's true to a point. I can think of few situations in which "Are you gay?" asked live isn't designed to (a) elicit a squirm from the subject (b) be sensationalist at the expense of the subject.
