Too high but obviously a good song.
― Mr Andy M, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)
AG's little poll ain't a poll no more
― gesange der yuengling (crüt), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:40 (thirteen years ago)
Hah.
― Mr Andy M, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:41 (thirteen years ago)
when i saw 'school' at 22 i figured 'negative creep' had to be top ten for sure

I did not vote in this poll; I find everything about to be a series of dreadful mistakes. That said: Oh, Lung Leg....
― Three Word Username, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:47 (thirteen years ago)
Negative Creep yes; love that riff so much
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:48 (thirteen years ago)
I usually turn off bad moon rising before "death valley '69" comes on
― vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:48 (thirteen years ago)
my second-favorite Sonic Youth song after "The Diamond Sea"
― cake-like Lady Gaga (DJP), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:49 (thirteen years ago)
these results really are absurd. <3 you ILM
― gesange der yuengling (crüt), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:49 (thirteen years ago)
^ On my ballot, but seeing this come above things like Ace Of Spades and Back In Black is kind of giving me a taste of 'voter's regret'.
― Mr Andy M, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:50 (thirteen years ago)
(With more voter's regret if Freak Scene goes Top 3 as seems possible. I had them pegged as solid Top 30-40 ish type tunes).
― Mr Andy M, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:51 (thirteen years ago)
Inhuman was my #2 pick, Brother James was #22, and I didn't vote f/this at all. love it f/sentimental reasons, but its hammy theatrics undermine the carpet-bombing din.
― Hellhouse, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:51 (thirteen years ago)
xpost Lol @ me acting like I've been doing these ballots forever and know all the ins and outs.
― Mr Andy M, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:52 (thirteen years ago)
I don't remember where we were but I distinctly remember some random all ages thing with I believe jjj where they played this and put the video up on monitors scattered around the nightclub and I just remember sitting there rapt the entire time, especially the "HIT IT" section
― cake-like Lady Gaga (DJP), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)
some of you guys spilt tears leaving stuff off your ballots then deciding on rankings.
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)
I think AC/DC's best work was in the 70s tbh.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)
it was but Back In Black is still great.
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)
I'm not saying I don't like it. Just that I don't really see a problem with the idea that Husker Du and Sonic Youth might have been making more vital hard rock in the 80s.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:58 (thirteen years ago)
I'm surprised it didn't make my ballot though! "Ace of Spades" either! WTF? I've seen both AC/DC and Motorhead live btw.
me neither others may agree others might not
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:59 (thirteen years ago)
I think I was really hating Brian Johnson when I was making my ballot. Weird.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 20:59 (thirteen years ago)
yep dan that was me, and it was at first avenue danceteria
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:00 (thirteen years ago)
DV'69 also works better in context as the bracing coda to Bad Moon's twilight drift.
― Hellhouse, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:01 (thirteen years ago)
I only love a few Brian songs - You Shook Me, Back in Black, Hells Bells, maaaaayyybe Money Talks if I'm really drunk and feeling silly but mostly I'm all Bon all the time
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:02 (thirteen years ago)

― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:05 (thirteen years ago)
i'm a bon man for life but holly hell if Brian Johnston doesn't sing lead on 4 or 5 of the best hard rock tracks since the death of bon scott

― stirmonster, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:08 (thirteen years ago)
i voted for 3 SY songs. wish i'd just gone with brother james now.
― stirmonster, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:09 (thirteen years ago)
looking for Ugly American, but will settle f/Kerosene.
― Hellhouse, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:10 (thirteen years ago)
Went with Freak Scene because after repping quite hard for Dino Jr (on my ballots and in the threads) it felt like fronting to leave out what is obv their biggest song. But yeah, they did much better, and Bug for me was a step down from YLAOM. Freak Scene catchy but not great, my final verdict.
― Mr Andy M, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:11 (thirteen years ago)
I don't even find it that catchy. I've heard it many many times and still couldn't tell you how the chorus goes.
― vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)
this is always the sad part of the poll where i hope for a great surprise that i know has no chance of happening re: kerosene
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)
i love 'freak scene' a ton but agreed on bug being a step down from ylaom for sure
