Never loved ST as much as some of their peers but can't really argue with this one.

― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:26 (thirteen years ago)
yeah that doesn't seem really 'lol ilm' to me, pretty huge well known classic. 'rockist' charge is hilarious and wrong but i have to admit some moroder jordache aor flashdance disco on this list would be awesome.

'rockist' charge is hilarious and wrong
One of my questions was whether the parameters of the poll were informed by sociological rather than musical factors, so you can see the relation to the rockism debate there.
― timellison, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:34 (thirteen years ago)
yeah "Institutionalized" is not 'very ilm' in any particular way
― Algeddie Trunkeeper (some dude), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:34 (thirteen years ago)
this seems insane to me; anything talking about American hardcore is going to reference "Institutionalized" as one of the songs that put the genre on mainstream radar
― cake-like Lady Gaga (DJP), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:35 (thirteen years ago)
in fact i'm not sure i've ever even seen any mention of Suicidal Tendencies on here, although i'm sure they exist

btw it's such bullshit that Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj have all been hired to endorse Pepsi but not Suicidal Tendencies
― Algeddie Trunkeeper (some dude), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 18:38 (thirteen years ago)
xpost Except to say that it's prob not quite as good as In 'n' Out Of Grace.
(fyi Google pulled back about 71,800 results on www.ilxor.com for "suicidal tendencies institutionalized")

My favorite Flipper song, Life, was not nominated. (I know, I could have nominated. I didn't initially plan on voting in this pole.)

ive come to realize that mudhoney is the one canon grunge band that i really really love.Over the years I've come to appreciate bits and pieces from most of the main bands who were associated with the grunge tag, but Nirvana and Mudhoney are and always were head and shoulders above the rest for. Mudhoney in particular sound like what I hoped grunge would sound like when I first had it described to me, if you get what I mean.
