stirmonster, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)

I dislike everything I've heard by Jane's Addiction.

_Rudipherous_, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)

I know I'm a little late on the Jane's Addiction theme.

My votes are doing a lot better today than yesterday.

_Rudipherous_, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 20:57 (thirteen years ago)

everything's still too low imo but I'm loving the rollout of all my favorite tracks one after the other

I take my hat off to whoever picked "Chartered Trips" or "Had a Dad" as #1.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:08 (thirteen years ago)

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:11 (thirteen years ago)

booo too low

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

If "Flower" made it to 64, I have to assume "Death Valley '69" is top 40.

xpost to "Tom Sawyer" OK, I was a little off there.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

i noticed when filling in my very hasty track ballot that nobody had shortlisted dreams reoccurring

A.R.R.Y. Kane (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

but hooray anyway

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

too few rand points.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

Hey it's the Rush song that even moaners like me enjoy.

This Is Nilbog, We Do What We Like (Mr Andy M), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

I wonder if "YYZ" beat it! Don't think "Spirit of Radio" was nominated.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

yeah for Rush its ok

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

I prefer Red Barchetta over Tom Sawyer meself

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:14 (thirteen years ago)

and Temples of Syrinx over all but that's not 80s

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:14 (thirteen years ago)

"Red Barchetta" is probably my OPO.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:15 (thirteen years ago)

Don't think it was nominated though.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

This was never a standout track for me.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

Breakin the Law is awesome -- I personally prefer the live version for the BREAKIN THA WOT? BREAKIN THA WOT? BREEEEAAAAKIN THAA LAAAAAAAWWWWW

Number of the Beast - nice to see it paired with Priest but aaaaaggggghhh goddammit way too low you jerks

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:37 (thirteen years ago)

I could give a shit abt Sonic Youth tbh

I like em but I don't care that much?

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:37 (thirteen years ago)

its a case of sonic youth fans voting for tracks from albums

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:37 (thirteen years ago)

craziness

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:37 (thirteen years ago)

but otoh its cool to see non Daydream Nation tracks getting a look in.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:38 (thirteen years ago)

Iron Maiden = Awesome running music.

Moka, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:38 (thirteen years ago)

but unlike the husker du tracks we had already on here , this one doesnt really work as a standalone track. I listen to their albums as a whole.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

a couple of Du tracks didn't place btw just incase you're think Du fans just voted for everything. (not that im saying SY fans did either)
but i know some dude i think it was thought that their fans might vote everything into the top 20

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:41 (thirteen years ago)

SY is my favorite band of all time but i don't really know where they fit in this poll or why they're here, didn't put much on my ballot

56 Gang Of Four - To Hell With Poverty! 598 Points, 11 Votes, One #1

http://youtu.be/sPJHQmJAiKA

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:42 (thirteen years ago)

They fit as well as anyone else on here. Esp the early stuff i see no problem.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:43 (thirteen years ago)

pch = highlight of late 20th c music

A.R.R.Y. Kane (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:43 (thirteen years ago)

I like em but I don't care that much?
Even though I did vote for them I'm kind feeling this take on SY. From the noms thread on it's seemed clear that views on them tend to be quite polarized between all-time, life-changing genius on the one hand and overrated crap that represents all of that horrible indie stuff we hate on the other. For me both views seem weird because SY will always just be 'a band I quite like'.

The slow, jammy bit on Pacific Coast Highway is good.

This Is Nilbog, We Do What We Like (Mr Andy M), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 21:44 (thirteen years ago)

the indie hate is quite bizarre on ilm. Because it comes from people who used to be into it.
Modern indie hate i understand i guess as its really meaningless now.
