I really like "Rain", the whole Love album in fact. Kind of a Joy Division-meets-Zep vibe. It was totally arbitrary that they didn't end up making my final ballots. Is this really considered goth?

I voted for this. prob. my favorite Bauhaus song. In the Flat Field has a number of great trebly and slashing guitar riffs that elevate it out of the goth ghetto and make it a postpunk classic of sorts. Dark Entries in particular has a genuine punk drive that nicely offsets Murphy's theatrical tendencies. I'm not a goth fan, but this track isn't particularly goth IMO.

Was wondering when something from Metallica would show up.

Metallica's a weird band at this point. they seem so revered and reviled both critically and popularly that it's tough to say where they'll place. I don't think their more recent blunders have led to any critical revisions of their early work, though, so I'm guessing a lot of the tracks in this poll will be fairly high.

I really dig the slow build to the bridge and then the ROCK OUT! I just don't know enough about early Metallica to have voted for them. By the time I was getting into metal they were releasing fancy special editions of their black album.
