It's a good way to introduce songs a lot might not know but some value really highly. You don't really learn anything from a top 50.

It's also good for the people who voted for their fave songs , rather than what they think others might vote for,to see their efforts rewarded.

All poll results should be longer IMO just for those reasons.

Didn't put Do The Du on my ballot 'cause it's a somewhat different kind of groove from what I would associate with 'rock', but now I'm thinking I should have put quibbles aside and gone for it.

it's got that excellent scouring guitar riff which made me think it's rock enough.

Peace Thru Vandalism is a top album, well worth checking out.
Their later stuff is very different, kind of in the vein of 90s pop-punk like NoFX etc. A little bit too cutesy-pie at times but sometimes quite fun (although to be fair I've not listened to it in years).

god I despise NoFX so much. Still gutted the Descendents went in that vein on their comeback. What a letdown.

Oh sure NoFX are awful, they were just the first comparison that came to mind. There are probably closer ones but I'm struggling right now - Screaching Weasel maybe? They're a lot less Ramones-y than SW though.

I really like "Rain", the whole Love album in fact. Kind of a Joy Division-meets-Zep vibe. It was totally arbitrary that they didn't end up making my final ballots. Is this really considered goth?
