don't think anybody's interested in writing a blurb for an album they're unsure is going to place, and the popular favorites will have plenty of opinions to mine from the ILM archives

i guess it's a nice idea if people want to do them but i don't really see too much of a point in blurbs for these kinds of polls -- if people have something to say the discussion will follow when the album places

yes, i was thinking that as i typed my last post. it's not very rock. still amazing though.

had i been paying attention to the nominations thread i'd have nominated their "metal dance" track in the tracks noms.

well the albums list should rollout after the tracks finishes a week on friday. It will run til the following friday. So before a week on friday to be sure. But anything you know will finish high up can come in after that.
Best thing to do is to webmail me (include your email so i can reply) with what you might do blurbs for. Then if they place I can get back to you without letting anyone else know somethings placed.

some dude - the blurbs help get discussion started plus people like descriptions to see if they want to hear it rather than blindly jump in.

the polls I've been participating in mostly just show the song title, number of votes and number of #1 placings...maybe a unique photo or a rare performance youtube?

The EOY polls and other email polls used to have either blurbs about the albums or classic posts copied from the archives. But that is way time consuming and too much on top of the other stuff involved. Hence the ask for help.
in the old days of ilm there was a lot of longform posts to choose from which is possibly why people liked blurbs

Also blurbs from a few lines to an essay length help discourse as it encourages it, which supposedly, according to poll haters, the polls suppress. or something.

Though I do understand that a lot of posters prefer to keep their thoughts,especially longform posts on a subject, for their paying gig. But if ANYBODY wants to write a few lines about any album then get in touch as it would be really appreciated.
If you cant spare the time then you can always post on the results thread and get a good ilm discussion going. Always good fun.

ha, more like stomach-churning and vertigo. always a good time when you spend way too fucking long finding a slot for record, only to realize when you go to vote that you haven't actually nominated it (High Rise II, fuck it). a lot of the records I voted for aren't going to place, though, so w/e.

This was almost the most fun part of the voting process for me.

Apparently, I overrated Zen Arcade though. I seem to actually prefer Warehouse.

usually I'm not too bad at ranking stuff but a disproportionate amount of my favorite albums of all time are in this poll. horror film poll was tough but this is insane.

it's easy to rank the ones you're \m/ about ...but it's harder for the stuff that falls in the middle
