I think Reuben Wu is still wandering around doing photography, not sure if more Ladytron stuff is coming but I had a good morning listening to their albums

Electroclash seems to belong to this weird other-time in my mind. Like it was forgotten as a post-traumatic memory of 9/11.

Seventeen is still a great song.

I don't even really consider ladytron electroclash -- the stuff pre-witching hour might as well not exist to me

Light & Magic isn't a bad album. Still sounds fresh today, with all the minimal wave, cold wave, druggy stuff going on lately. It's weird that after nearly 20 years, the 80s retro thing hasn't died out yet.

I really Ladytron but out of their five albums, I only really rate two of them. Witching Hour is close to being a perfect record and 604 is very strong, apart from those they're frustratingly patchy on record.

put this album on 34 mins ago cos of this thread revival, not heard it in years - and even then i only listened to it a couple of times.
it's the only album of ladytrons i have.
will be playing it a lot more often from hereon.

I agree, I listened to Gravity The Seducer the other night and think there's plenty of good stuff on it... 'Moon Palace' probably one of my favourite Ladytron tracks! I like the first two albums, but it's hard to argue with the idea that they came into their own and started realising their potential on Witching Hour

Yes! About fucking time ... what did people think of the two Marnie solo records that came out during the hiatus?

I liked them, the first better than the second. that said, I can't listen to the record anymore -- I got a lot of angry email about what I thought was a positive review, and every time one of the songs comes up on shuffle I'm reminded of it and have to turn it off

Nice to have them back although, come on, this sounds exactly like Broadcast!

the new album is out, and it's...a trip.

the highs are high, the lows are low (sometimes very low), and the overall production is...uhh...weird.

but I'm kinda digging it. 'Deadzone,' 'You've Changed,' and 'Paper Highways' are pretty fun.

The leaked tracks really didn’t impress. Still, I pledged to get the physical edition so looking forward to it. Love the cover art

It's a grower. Some good hooks but is it me or is this record brick-walled to death? Pretty disappointing since the music often blurs into a flat mush.

I have tried several times to give this a whole listen through, but its just way too painful.
hopefully its just the digital promo, and things are better on release, as this album sounds really bad.
shame, there are some cracking songs hidden in there.

I know "it's thematically appropriate" is a cop-out but in this case it is kind of thematically appropriate

fwiw the best track here is "deadzone," up there with "silent shout" in terms of songs that embody/address trauma

Saw them live the other day and they were excellent. Sound was really beefed up, might have been the venue maybe, but they were really powerful.

I found their last couple of albums utterly forgettable but this new single is sounding good:
