let's keep in mind, though, that if you are a celebrity who rather famously has an incident in his past where he smacked the shit out of his girlfriend, it's an even worse idea than usual to get a tattoo of a woman's face with markings on it in places reminiscent of the bruising you left on your girlfriend's face

Anyway, Chris Brown is a moron. The tattoo is of a half normal/half sugar-skulled woman which may or may not (but probably is) his sick homage to his own handiwork.

Nah, I was just reacting to people saying it was a tattoo of a battered woman and it isn't one. Whether or not it's a tattoo that's a metaphor for a battered woman (which it likely is) is different.

it's self-evident that the markings on the face aren't ACTUAL bruise marks and scars; the point is that the face is crudely reminiscent of Rihanna's and many of the markings are in places where he fucked up her face, which is fucking disturbing and even more so if it was "coincidence"

Chris brown is like a really poorly characterized villain in an 80s cop show, he's just too obviously awful.

I think big takeaway for Chris Brown is that he needs to stop patronizing luxury merchants who hate him

I'm fully willing to believe that Chris Brown is dumb enough to be talked into this. Whether or not it was his idea, I think we can all agree on what it means. I was just pointing out what it isn't.

any distinctions made over what the tattoo actually depicts are irrelevant; it's not coincidentally reclaiming the swastika as a big fan of eastern mysticism, it's not a birthmark that happens to share some similarities with something unfortunately ironic, it's something he elected to represent which 110% coincides with the first-line-of-his-obituary public perception with him. there is just no wiggle room, any more than "oh no it's just four L shapes at ninety degree angles!" would change one's perception of a swastika.
