I think what rubs me the wrong way the most about Infinity Ink is the way the vocals have this faint whiff of MGMT/ pseudo Beegees kinda thing.

It doesn't much matter that there's a bumpy little garage loop under the rest of the beat, still yeucch.

Maybe its more Cut Copy than MGMT, I've spent too much time playing this crap for college students.

I did like Games better than the other two.

Out of everything I've heard on Crosstown Rebels I liked the Francesca Lombardo release the most. Old School Anna is pretty good.

A very very Anglo house diva, I'm not really a huge fan of male singers who mostly resonate through their nose.

Which is probably why I hate indie rock with a passion.

Now I'm reminded of all the RnB singers who have essentially the same register, I guess I'd rather listen to Jeremih than this. Or NeYo.

Interzone bubblers and afrobeats should be such a natural fit but that TS7 remix just doesn't work, kinda clunky imo.

i'm not sure they're a natural fit at all actually but it's an intriguing clunkyness... would say the fuse is less so cos his vocal is only glancingly afro anyway whereas todd leans on soca caribbean to make it work

my latest music obsession is Todd Edwards, going through his early singles/remixes, and tbh it's hard to find stuff I *don't* like. uk garage is such a particular style, I know the honeymoon can't last -- but then I LOVE the style, and will happily play it for hours on end when the mood strikes.

you should check out his FACT mix from 2009 or so... really great mix of his stuff from that period. kicks off with a banging remix of "burnin down the house" and has a dope enya remix too!
