twitty milk (deej), Monday, 26 January 2009 10:27 (seventeen years ago)

And one of the arresting officers is a black woman. Will the indignities never end for Berg?

DJ Khaledonian Thistle (Dom Passantino), Monday, 26 January 2009 10:30 (seventeen years ago)

he handled that aight i thought but lol @ him crashing that shit and then the cop referring to it as a "scooter" because naturally yung berg would drive a scooter

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 January 2009 10:30 (seventeen years ago)

lolz @ his manager trying to get his jewelery & telling the cops hes wearing $50,000 worth & weighs 100 lbs

twitty milk (deej), Monday, 26 January 2009 10:32 (seventeen years ago)

someone has to sample the "my legs are spread, sir" part of that vid

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 January 2009 10:33 (seventeen years ago)

lol Rhymefest also had a corny Fiascogate pun on the Michael Jackson mixtape

The Reverend (rev), Monday, 26 January 2009 21:38 (seventeen years ago)

at first I thought Slaughterhouse had five members so I was gonna give them props for a weird subtle Vonnegut reference but I guess it's only four guys, anyway fuck 'em all.

some dude, Monday, 26 January 2009 21:40 (seventeen years ago)

Now, I'm intrigued to hear this for some reason.

The Reverend (rev), Monday, 26 January 2009 21:47 (seventeen years ago)

it's really just boring

jordy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 January 2009 21:51 (seventeen years ago)

they need to do a concept album about how hurt and betrayed and taken for granted each of them felt when they were dropped from their respective major label deals.

some dude, Monday, 26 January 2009 21:53 (seventeen years ago)

lol

The Reverend (rev), Monday, 26 January 2009 21:58 (seventeen years ago)

yung berg's "it's just marijuana" is so rueful

lex pretend, Monday, 26 January 2009 21:58 (seventeen years ago)

if he had any sense he'd turn this into a show on tru tv so he doesn't have to get a job at cvs in two years

lol, i meant to post that to the 77 mixtapedia thread yesterday but never did. as far as cheesy reenactments of classic album covers it's not bad, although i'm sure this guy's a real thundercat rapper.

some dude, Tuesday, 27 January 2009 14:00 (seventeen years ago)

Was "This Year's Mixtape" really too far a stretch for this guy that he had to pun on an album that came out half a decade later from a completely different genre?

xxxpost I was really excited because I thought it was gonna be some Smiths-themed mixtape, then I saw the cover and I was confused, then I didn't listen to it

The eMo City Don (surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 19:58 (seventeen years ago)

Let's not do a list of Smiths/rap themed puns, thanks.

DJ Khaledonian Thistle (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 20:02 (seventeen years ago)

Although I always thought Moz going "You just haven't earned it yet baby" would work well as part of a scratch chorus.

DJ Khaledonian Thistle (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 20:03 (seventeen years ago)

So Koch no longer exists; they've rebranded as "E-1 Records".
I assume this is a response to the label being a punchline.

O-mentum (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 20:03 (seventeen years ago)

that's really odd...I think their reputation the last few years as an artist-friendly label that pays better than the majors and can still get songs on the radio the last couple years has far outweighed the "graveyard for former major label artists" stigma it used to have...combine that with the weird decision to make Jim Jones a VP and maybe they're headed in the same direction as TVT...

so who is signed to Atlantic right now -- it seems like they're the only major who's really picking up tons of rap artists at the moment whats up w/ that

twitty milk (deej), Tuesday, 27 January 2009 22:36 (seventeen years ago)

hmm, i dunno, who besides Maino? I mean I guess there's like B.O.B. and Yung LA but they were just on Grand Hustle which was already on Atlantic.

some dude, Wednesday, 28 January 2009 03:25 (seventeen years ago)

twitty milk (deej), Wednesday, 28 January 2009 03:38 (seventeen years ago)

i thought you were talking about new artists or people they've picked up recently? but yeah they definitely have the best major label roster in rap right now, have for a minute.

some dude, Wednesday, 28 January 2009 03:54 (seventeen years ago)

atlantic is also pretty much the only major label promoting US hip-hop in the UK w/any degree of competency

lex pretend, Wednesday, 28 January 2009 12:41 (seventeen years ago)

So has anyone heard the new N.A.S.A. album yet?
