lol, i meant to post that to the 77 mixtapedia thread yesterday but never did. as far as cheesy reenactments of classic album covers it's not bad, although i'm sure this guy's a real thundercat rapper.

Was "This Year's Mixtape" really too far a stretch for this guy that he had to pun on an album that came out half a decade later from a completely different genre?

that's really odd...I think their reputation the last few years as an artist-friendly label that pays better than the majors and can still get songs on the radio the last couple years has far outweighed the "graveyard for former major label artists" stigma it used to have...combine that with the weird decision to make Jim Jones a VP and maybe they're headed in the same direction as TVT...
