I don't believe that anyone intentionally voted for the OG "Flowers" - it wasn't even released as a single. Could this have been a mistake of someone accidentally nominating the original and then people accidentally voting for it?

Guilty as charged - turns out the version I know / thought was the original is, in fact, an edit of the Sunship mix - thank poorly labelled bargain-bin garage/2-step cassettes/CDs and Slsk for me being under this impression for over a decade. I actually can't seem to find the original "Flowers" to see what it sounds like - the version on both the SFA album and the single is the Sunship remix.

Even though I can agree with "In The Trees" being better, like anyone was ever going to forget the most "overhyped record of the year".

I feel the same about "Hyph Mngo" (vis a vis, oh, say, DJ Abstract's "Touch") but I still expect it to top lots of retrospective "dance tunes of 2009" lists in the future.

I'm surprised that no one else besides me voted for Ellen Allien's "Sehnsucht"! To me that tune is massive, clearly better than that Ellen Allien & Apparat tune that placed (which is not bad itself). Was there no ILM buzz about that tune? I remember when I played Berlinette for the first time, and "Sehnsucht" came on, I was like "holy shit, this is epic!". Even though the rest of the album is good too, it never quite reaches the same heights.
