it's a timeless and great record & and a legendary performance. his description is sort of the "I heard she was a drunk! she sounds so drunk!" version. It won five Grammys, spent 95 weeks on the charts, is in the Library of Congress, was a high note for her in her career - if you know nothing about what she did, then you can hear that she was a lifelong addict and go "this sounds like she's all fucked up!" to me but research the album a little bit - you have to be bringing lame countercultural assumptions to the table to hear it as much else than a bravura performance.

"Judy Garland Speaks" is on the other hand either hilarious or sad and hard to listen to depending on how much you enjoy hearing drunk former child stars rambling into a cassette recorder

So, uh, any updates? Just curious, because I got an email from Barnes & Noble last night telling me they credited my account a refund for the balance of my subscription to Spin on my Nook. I'm hoping maybe this just means they've changed the terms of their e-versions or something and not something more gloomy.
