Y'know, looking at this list I feel surprisingly... indifferent, uninterested, even - especially given that I think his beck and depeche mode remixes are super boring, and that not much else I've heard from this list is that much better. Anyways, I voted for blood on my hands, but even that's not incredibly exciting. Maybe I'm just cranky but this poll is proving kind of underwhelming for me, perhaps strangely, perhause 'cause he's just a better original producer.

i think his originals are mostly better, too, but i feel obligated to say that 'blood on my hands' is totally classic, even if its the boring non-contrarian opinion.

xpost: haha at "perhause" at last perhaps and because have been synthesized. Anyways, I am kind of cranky (though I was already not getting any hopes up about the new RV album), but I think I'll make that Superpitcher poll if I remember too.

For the most part Villalobos' strategy with remixes was basically to strip out the melody and run the tune through a wormhole, I think for anyone other than absoute V stans that trick really is only effective a handful of times and seeing all these remixes listed just underscores that.

It's a good remix but I have always had issues with the Sinner In Me remix, as I used to listen to Sebo K's RA mix as a soundtrack for running, and the arrival of the interminable bongo loops signaled a ten minute stretch that felt like running up a really steep hill.

'sinner in me' remix always bored the shit out of me. really dislike the way dave gahan's voice works on it.

yeah, that's pretty otm, and villalobofication works better on some songs than others.
