i felt the same way and probably do overall but the bass dynamics on the CC remix on a big-ass system is just ... sheesh

it's so fucking loud and deep you basically can't hear it on a home stereo, it just feels like he's rotating the dancefloor through the bass dimension

Definitely more into the original mix too, but I did like the remix at the time - massively overplayed though.

Big rush of stuff here I'd have expected to be higher, especially Sky Was Pink which I thought would be top 10.

I still hear Timecode played out a fair bit, feels like its really lasted in a way that not much else from that era has. That hook!

yes! 'in the trees' broke top 40, ended up my favourite out of several c2 mixes, only other one i voted for was 'gary'. love 'timecode' but always preferred 'elan' voted both.

I haven't really been able to keep up with this poll due to being in the wrong time zone, but I am really enjoying the playlist. So many "Oh! Is THAT what that track is?" moments of putting a name to something I have heard out without knowing.

Just catching up on this last run. Had Falling Up rmx as my #19 but a mid-table sort of placing feels appropriate for it. If we were to re-run the ballot I would def throw a vote to Timecode though, it's one of those tunes that I came to late, initially thought 'eh that's alright' but subsequently have found growing and growing on me.
Had forgotten how much of a facemelter the In The Trees rmx is, nice.

Fairly substantial bias in favour of microhouse and post-microhouse (horrible fucking term but most of this isn't minimal per se). And Carl Craig. 03-04 electrohouse heavy hitters, deep house and minimal feel kind of under-represented so far.

it ws a tough decision man and i could have stuffed my ballot full of c2 remixes but in the end i had to go with the two i'd bounced around the floor/my flat to the most.

The c2 remix I never got was In the Trees, though in general I've always found them a bit on the overrated side. I believe I voted for revelee, though, cause I mean, why wouldn't you!

wait, i'm listening to the video and it's not what i thought was the original. i've been listening to (Hercules Club Mix). in the dfa i claimed the original was 10 times better than the frankie knuckles version, i guess i'm claiming this one is.

but "blind" when played in a club (and preferably the "club mix") just sounds like it has come from outer space. the vocal makes me feel how i imagine it would be to be on opium. so warm inside!

the knuckles mix to me sounds like BAD funky / handbag house. hated that sound then, hate it now. mr. knuckles can do so much better.

(I'm just bitter because I voted for the Club mix / love both Knuckles and H&LA but can't stand that remix)

Falling Up remix might be the single track i heard played out most over the last decade, it seems like absolutely everyone played it. it's alright, not a particular personal favourite. wish i'd heard Relevee remix played nearly as often, but that one's more of a showstopper I guess.

I quite like the 'falling up' remix but prefer 'relevee' and 'in the trees' and probably 'like a child' too (which i didn't vote for). that big synth riff on 'in the trees', so classic.

The Sky Was Pink remix is much better and more exciting than I remember it being.

I hated the Knuckles remix of "Blind" at first but eventually came to love it. Don't remember which version I voted for, though.

I never get the appeal of the frankie knuckles remix, too. It's OK but could've been made by a random soundcloud guy.

the original mix of 'blind' was my fave. had a certain swagger to it.

i always liked that 'icelandic version' of 'the sky was pink' the best - more of a swirly laptop shoegazer thing though really.

Club Mix is the best b/c it's the one that sounds most like Adamski's "Killer".

One of my favourite moments in self-googling was stumbling across a feminist blog takedown of a year-end write-up of "Blind" I'd done on the basis that I repressed its queer content.

The club mix is the best version of Blind because it removes a lot of the superfluous ingredients - his voice, especially the "to see you now" bit, works so much more powerfully with more space around it. It's like he's singing to an empty club.

As far as I can remember there's not much going on in the club mix either than beats, bass and vocals whereas the original is kind of cluttered and messy.
