Brutalga Square I could never get that into. Koze Comes Around got a lot of love but I wasn't able to warm up to it so much.

Antena's "Camina Del Sol (Joakim Mix)" is just too big for words - it's like, trance revivalism meets Ame meets Carl Craig meets, I dunno, just skyscraping largesse. It's almost too big: the whole thing feels incredibly deliberate. But it would be pretty astonishing on the dancefloor.

I went to Las Vegas once and I swear one of the best moments I had there was hearing 'camino del sol' on a club. I don't know if that makes my Vegas trip lame or awesome.

That said I prefer the original one since I knew it first and I have more memories attached to it but the Joakim mix is huge.

Damn I need to hear that. The original is one of my favorite songs ever.

Despite adoring both "Life's a Beach" and "Losing My Edge", I didn't vote for either for fear that people would get angry with some interloper indie-ing up the proceedings.

not that i dislike the knife, boards of canada, LCD soundsystem and fischerspooner. i enjoy them all, but they're more familiar to me, and maybe seem to belong to a different storyline? i suppose the same could be said of studio and "la ritournelle", but i don't know them as well, so they took me by surprise.

I don't think I had ever heard that Antena remix before. It's pretty outstanding.

'losing my edge' probably shoulda been 'beat connection' - although tom ewing (or ...someone) made the point back when it was new that the ignored b-side being better was true to classic single type so maybe it's appropriate.

"Beat Connection" is better, though I prefer "Yeah". Even so, "Losing My Edge" is more defining so I get it.

I can really listen to "Minimal" over and over again.

A load more personal favourites in here, Whispers is still fantastic and its depressing that neither Aeroplane nor The Magician went further down that road. Inflation obviously amazing. So Much Love To Give is a pinnacle of a sound that's been done to death since but still, wow. I prefer the Terje version of Camino Del Sol but the Joakim one is huge on a dancefloor.

Genuinely surprised that Deck The House is rated so highly, especially on a par with Emerge.

i love Deck the House. i've never really thought of it as being quirky/wacky, although i guess it is a bit! the lemon jelly dig hurts.

It's the diddly acoustic guitar sample that prompts the Lemon Jelly comparison.

yeah it's a fair point! i think i've always found the track too infectious to be bothered by the wackiness. milton parker nails it in that great post up there.

i hope 'deck the house' showing up doesn't mean 'skidoos' won't place as it's different class. it probably does mean that tho :(

No, and i'm a bit surprised you're asking! Great tune though.

I like basically everything so far. Even overrated stuff like Blawan.

This last stretch was a bit barren for me in terms of stuff from my list making it - all I had was Brutalga Square at #21.
Still plenty of goodies though. Love Cry is easily one of my favourite Four Tet tunes, far and away better than most things I've heard from them. Aeroplane - Whispers and the Camino Del Soul remix are right up my street at the moment, Whispers especially. Life's A Beach I'm enjoying way more than West Side.

Fizheuer Ziheuer I almost voted for but I dunno, something about the length of it made it fit awkwardly with most other things on my list. It's kind of a classic anyway, obvs.

Even though I'm not like a raving Villalobos stan I'd be very curious as to how a poll of his tunes would pan out.

lots of stuff i love but some v weird inclusions, that partial arts thing, i literally can't even remember what that sounds like. or "mushroom" for superpitcher seems an odd choice, though i don't know what one track of his i'd pick. the mfa remix i guess will probably feature.

That Partial Arts tune is of an era of Kompakt tunes where I listened to them a fair bit at the time and then never again. This covers basically everything the label did from 2006 onwards mind.

bit disappointed 'out there' wasn't on the noms list, that's my favourite of the studio tracks. might also have thrown a vote to either the kylie or shout out louds remixes. ailtough none of them really fit the brief to my mind.
