this is one of my favorite albums of the last ten years and hardly anyone heard it. came out on a tiny label. never made it to the ststes, etc. kinda avant-black, but great vibe. great tension. jim jones worship is kind of a throwback in the transgressive sweepstakes - what's next manson? - but its okay cuz it works.

i used to have their first album many moons ago. Kill Or Be Killed. a minor classic to be sure.

I'll have to dig that up tomorrow. Was also digging Sacrilege B.C. earlier. I think the anti-thrash stuff on the extreme metal thread have given me a reaction formation.

Both those Blessed Death albums got remastered reissues via the Metal Mind label back in 2007 or so. I got copies sent to me at Metal Edge, along with a million other early Roadracer/Roadrunner titles nobody remembers or cares about anymore. So much great stuff.

this album. man. listening to this whole album really loud on big speakers makes swans sound like the pizzicato five. so intense. and it just keeps getting crazier. listening on a computer doesn't count. so fucked up.

They were a hardcore band, that's their "metal" album. Those quotes aren't because it isn't metal but because it's on some other fucked up crazy plane. Just as insane as when they were doing 2 minute songs like "I Killed My Family," though.

Released in the late 90s but these guys had been around since '86 and have that ur-metal quality, like some riffs are thrashy, some are doomy, some are brutal, but it's all fucking fun as shit.
