and new recording

andrew m., Tuesday, 28 August 2012 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

added another date for anyone that didn't get tickets. nice to see purson supporting! they ended up recording their album at our place, the last i heard of it was sounding damn good

Crackle Box, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 13:47 (thirteen years ago)

Wow - the tickets are almost £20 each! That seems insanely steep to me.

Walter Galt, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 15:29 (thirteen years ago)

Did anyone buy tix to that show at The Garage? It's not until March 22nd but probably sold out by now. So high demand = high prices. I'd gladly pay £20 seeing as I'd consider spending a lot more just to fly to London to see it. Also, look forward to the Purson album, The Circle And The Blue Door.

Yeah I got them. Tickets usually about 10-15 for The Garage, so yeah a bit pricey. Has just sold out anyway though & there's now a 2nd show the next day. Annoyingly with Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell in support, so kind of wish I'd waited, but then again will be seeing ASCS this weekend anyway.

Wandering Boy Poet, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 12:38 (thirteen years ago)

I've got tickets. They added an extra date recently though.

This Is... The Police (dog latin), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:04 (thirteen years ago)

Oh man, Uncle Acid and Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell would be a hell of a show, would love to see that tour through the States.

I saw yesterday thta they were saying over at Svart that they were down to the last dozen cds
http://www.svartrecords.com/shoppe/cds-free-shipping-worldwide/725-uncle-acid-and-the-deadbeats-blood-lust-cd.html
may be gone by now & I've seen high prices for the cd on Amazon too.

Stevolende, Monday, 24 September 2012 15:18 (thirteen years ago)

cd now sold out apparently, wonder if that's temporary? Just managed to get one before they went.

Stevolende, Thursday, 27 September 2012 20:18 (thirteen years ago)

if there were complaints about the first vinyl pressing, i certainly don't hear it in the second (black, at least). nice and heavy. quality sleeve too.

three months pass...

I just discovered this band and holy shit!

alpine static, Friday, 4 January 2013 08:34 (thirteen years ago)

yeah I still go back to this record. New one coming in March apparently!

Neil S, Friday, 4 January 2013 09:45 (thirteen years ago)

This is an actual findable cd on Metal Blade now, if anyone out there is balking at the prospect of a $40 lp.

InternationalWaters, Sunday, 6 January 2013 22:51 (thirteen years ago)

I got the CD over the holidays and have listened to it quite a bit. It's a cool mix of sounds, which is why they are getting so much deserved props.

Uncle Acid is good nighttime music.

Do we still need Manson samples in 2013?

mbvgz (how's life), Tuesday, 5 February 2013 16:13 (thirteen years ago)

Decent song though, by the way, in case anyone thinks I just fast-forwarded to 4:30.

It would be good if you could order the new stuff from places other than Rise Above, I'm still waiting for an order to be sent from the beginning of January!

Gouty_Ted, Tuesday, 5 February 2013 16:17 (thirteen years ago)

this is cool! the production sounds more polished

WHOA. Are you serious?

alpine static, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:53 (thirteen years ago)

I found this record on orange vinyl for an exorbitant price in an average-at-best record store in my podunk, USA town and snapped it up. Been blasting it for weeks now; my five-month-old seems to dig it.

Awesome stuff.

alpine static, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:54 (thirteen years ago)

Are you sure that's not a picture of Sparks? I'm certain that Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats would have long, stringy, unwashed hair.

how's life, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:55 (thirteen years ago)

don't ask me, i'm just the copy-paste guy..

nostormo, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:57 (thirteen years ago)

if that is them the second album will bomb, lol

it's their third!

idk why no one here talks about Uncle Acid's first record, but it's as awesome as Blood Lust is.

nostormo, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 17:59 (thirteen years ago)

something about the guitar makes me suspicious it's really them..

nostormo, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:00 (thirteen years ago)

record collector psych band looks like record collectors OMG

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:00 (thirteen years ago)

well yeah it is but the 1st was cdr ltd to 100 only so im not sure it was an official album..

Vote in the ILM 70s poll please! (Algerian Goalkeeper), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:01 (thirteen years ago)

is this the kind of guitar a stoner rock band would use?

nostormo, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:01 (thirteen years ago)

in a way, Blood Lust distribution was not really official as well..

nostormo, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:02 (thirteen years ago)

psych record collectors dont wash and have long hair and beards. as do the bands. So watch out for the cries of "fake" and "hipsters" on every message board now (esp as pitchfork and nme might cover them now "theyre one of us!")

Looking like that didn't kill Liturgy's career.

what world do you live in?

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:04 (thirteen years ago)

that guitar looks like a E335? or similar? Those are great fucking guitars and they are semi-hollow which can be pretty cool for feedback and tone IMO

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:05 (thirteen years ago)

actually maybe a yamaha? yamaha made some nice guitars...bigsby on it or similar bar

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:05 (thirteen years ago)

but basically if their guitars sound good to you, then it's a good guitar to use for a stoner band

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:06 (thirteen years ago)

It's a Gretsch, yes?

how's life, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:06 (thirteen years ago)

lol @ anyone that gives a fuck what they look like or jumps off the train after seeing a picture of them

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:07 (thirteen years ago)

how's life - i swear it says yamaha on the headstock? or i see a "Y" but yamaha always made guitars that emulated classic guitars, often just as good and more affordable

in a chef-driven ambulance (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:08 (thirteen years ago)

lol @ all this

nice shirt, bro \m/

goole, Wednesday, 27 February 2013 18:08 (thirteen years ago)

if they arrive to pitchfork, their career would probably ruin regardless of how they look.
