i've been listening to "all birds" a lot off the MMG album. classic sleepy baby french hook.

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 29 July 2012 14:02 (thirteen years ago)

I think the King L tape might be my fave of the nu-Chi class of 2012.

camp lo magellan (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 29 July 2012 14:43 (thirteen years ago)

I don't know why all these tapes (King L/IceBurg/MeekMill) have to be 75 minutes long. It's such a slog, which is maybe why I keep coming back to lean 12-track ish like Action Bron or Mayhem Lauren

camp lo magellan (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 29 July 2012 14:47 (thirteen years ago)

mixtapes on the whole seemed to be getting shorter a couple years ago and then the trend reversed

Nutri Grane (some dude), Sunday, 29 July 2012 14:49 (thirteen years ago)

ALBUMS were getting shorter too and now it's the magical iTunes bonus bullshit era

camp lo magellan (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 29 July 2012 14:52 (thirteen years ago)

keef's and reese's mixtapes each being like 11 songs is one of the reasons why i'd rate both so highly this year

does a al ship like the new ludacris semi-clapper "jingalin"? the verses are so bad and the chorus is such a blatant rip-off of "a$$" that i'm embarrassed even by latter day luda standards.

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 29 July 2012 16:11 (thirteen years ago)

take it we're ignoring the Ross album then? "Sixteen" is pretty ludicrous but it's damned enjoyable, crappy guitar solo and all

Number None, Sunday, 29 July 2012 16:14 (thirteen years ago)

rich forever >

sisilafami, Sunday, 29 July 2012 18:44 (thirteen years ago)

the tape not the song

sisilafami, Sunday, 29 July 2012 18:44 (thirteen years ago)

I haven't even listened to the full thing to be honest

Number None, Sunday, 29 July 2012 18:44 (thirteen years ago)

rich forever >
--sisilafami

nah

camp lo magellan (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 29 July 2012 19:51 (thirteen years ago)

Rich Forever is dope, but kinda monochromatic. This is pretty much wall to wall good (except the Usher song and wale/stalley verses) and runs the gamut from Luger bangers to yacht rap to BAWSE shit

camp lo magellan (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 29 July 2012 19:53 (thirteen years ago)

nah, it's an incredibly safe album that dude has put out like 3 times already. it has its moments but ultimately a pretty big disappointment.

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 29 July 2012 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

ross needs to balance the incredibly expensive sounding shit w/ songs where he gets his hands dirty. 'rich forever' had that... he sounds threatened, mean. 'god forgives' -- despite its menacing title -- is way too weighted towards "i'm rapping in a room that's made entirely of marble and silk" shit.

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 29 July 2012 19:57 (thirteen years ago)

lol wait 50 cent has a new song out with dr dre and alicia keys

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 29 July 2012 20:34 (thirteen years ago)

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 29 July 2012 20:36 (thirteen years ago)

i def prefer rich forever, although i think this is a solid ross record

mind your business lady (D-40), Monday, 30 July 2012 01:34 (thirteen years ago)

There's songs on Rich Forever that are better than anything on this, but God Forgives is better as a whole. I would have loved to have a mastered version of "King of Diamonds" :(

yeah i'm trying to remember what i tweeted when it dropped, something about how the only way beefing w/ big sean can get any sadder is to make his new single a big sean knockoff.

Nutri Grane (some dude), Monday, 30 July 2012 03:17 (thirteen years ago)

oh that's right

buzzafeed (J0rdan S.), Monday, 30 July 2012 03:21 (thirteen years ago)

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 31 July 2012 19:00 (thirteen years ago)

it's cool you guys like na'tee, i think she's really good. it's kinda weird though cuz in many ways she's a pretty traditional battle/punchline type rapper than thought was goon non grata, like she's not that far from joell ortiz

wack nerd zinging in the dead of night (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 31 July 2012 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

"Lil Kim" is a story track that makes me think more of
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIAAoHA5ikU

I haven't listened to the entire tape yet tho. she's def east coast influenced & one of her fav albums is broken silence, which i fuck w/ heavily

REV LION (The Reverend), Tuesday, 31 July 2012 20:50 (thirteen years ago)
