he was literally camping in a van in the driveway w/ like five hippie girls (his age) who always looked wide-eyed and freaked-out unless he was there, i think he was giving them lots of cheap acid and brainwashing them, no joke, we had to kick them out after a couple weeks but he would always stop by to use the bathroom and offer us dirtweed in exchange for food

there were a couple of 60s beach boys / jack kerouac looking burnout acid heads (my age) that he would come around with and i still see those guys in the mission and around east side of golden gate park occasionally, they always give me this look like I KNOW THAT GUY but the circuit doesn't quite connect.

these groups/this 'scene' (what is this anyway? the upper midwest 'jam'/festival scene?) is really good at not doing jack shit for the planet while spouting a bunch of feel-good proselyting about clean water and shit.

the biggest takeaway I guess from this music is that any band whose primary objective is to "mix" genres is terrible. Genre lines should be enforced at gunpoint like the borders of Soviet-era Eastern European states.
