nice mix btw if you're in the mood for some 90's house

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Tuesday, 24 July 2012 10:06 (thirteen years ago)

i dont know that track

unknown vid #19 is in that mix, at 39 mins

Love the track at 2hrs10 - "get on up, put your hands together"

suare, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 10:14 (thirteen years ago)

listening to that underground paris mix now. commendable.

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 24 July 2012 11:06 (thirteen years ago)

don't like how he handled my ID request comments, though. they all disappeared, maybe he deleted them.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Tuesday, 24 July 2012 22:34 (thirteen years ago)

he does state quite baldly in his blurb "No tracklist" so not exactly surprising. dude seems to take himself quite seriously.

People who refuse to give tracklists are disgusting savages.

Would not mind also finding out what these two last clips are.

When people / DJs don't supply tracklists what are the reasons? When I started to listen to rare groove mixes from the 90s I can understand that DJs would be protective over their 'finds' but when house & techno DJs are playing current and to be released stuff what is the big deal about keeping it a secret? Surely they are stopping these producers selling their stuff and making a name for themselves? Other reasons seen include not wanting listeners to pre judge the mix but as far as I can see a tracklist is a pretty good advert! I've also heard 'too busy' cited which seems unlikely... Interested..

mmmm, Wednesday, 8 August 2012 13:39 (thirteen years ago)

think a lot of stuff isn't current - and also stuff that'll never be released anyway (dan andrei etc)

cestu, Wednesday, 8 August 2012 13:41 (thirteen years ago)

actually in a weird way I've found I do listen kind of differently when I don't know the tracklist - I'd like to know at some point tho (obv)

cestu, Wednesday, 8 August 2012 13:44 (thirteen years ago)

Posting tracklists a week after the mix, as mnml ssgs did for instance, is I think the best strategy. Otherwise you're probably being delusionally self-indulgent in thinking you're somehow you're the sole bearer of credit there; most importantly you're denying proper credit to the appropriate producers and labels. And seriously, if you think the quality of your mix rests on the exclusivity of its tracks you must be one insecure motherfucker.

guys i can guarantee that 99 times out of 100 it is sheer laziness

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 9 August 2012 13:06 (thirteen years ago)

True, but I'm talking about people that actively refuse, or say something like NO TRACKLIST.

EDB, Thursday, 9 August 2012 13:25 (thirteen years ago)

(though to be fair, how often does that even happen)

EDB, Thursday, 9 August 2012 13:25 (thirteen years ago)

I happens quite a lot. Laziness? If you go to the effort of sending out a mix to a 3rd party website for podcasting, how long does a going through and noting tracks take?

mmmm, Thursday, 9 August 2012 18:09 (thirteen years ago)

it takes no time whatsoever, you know every track on it, it'd take genuinely about 10 seconds longer than it took me to post this total shit. the amount of residual negativity and weariness in techno is beyond measure.

Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Thursday, 9 August 2012 22:27 (thirteen years ago)

Oh I meant how often does someone specifically refuse to tell you what tracks are.

Anyways, as someone who recently made a tracklist for a 229 trasck mix, including label and YEAR I will say: just make a fucking trascklist.

I can't find a digital copy of Moodymann's J.A.N. anywhere online, at all, short of youtube. Can anybody hook me up?

studyplenty, Saturday, 8 September 2012 14:28 (thirteen years ago)

Help me out here: massive piano vamp based house tune - almost nothing but the piano, the beat, an eerie breakdown and a woman saying "get together" which may be a sample from "Rose Rouge" or may be something else entirely. WHAT IS THIS LIFECHANGING TUNE.

what's the classic that goes "no one can change the way i feel, 'cause my love for you so real. it's you that i want." somehow slipped outta my mind.
