i'm assuming MBV is gonna add some more bands to their Sunday lineup, and i'd love to see something current that they're really into. (although in the case of more '90s stuff... i'd really like to see Aphex Twin. or maybe Earth. i dunno.)

stephen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 22:27 (eighteen years ago)

wasn't Kevin a big Birthday Party fan, also? why doesn't he add Nick Cave circa 2008, who's touring this year?

stephen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 22:28 (eighteen years ago)

Spiritualized maybe?

stephen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 22:30 (eighteen years ago)

stephen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 22:31 (eighteen years ago)

gabbneb, Thursday, 8 May 2008 22:59 (eighteen years ago)

call all destroyer, Friday, 9 May 2008 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

I thought tickets were on sale today for LA but now I see it's tomorrow.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 9 May 2008 14:19 (eighteen years ago)

Who amongst you is going to the second Manchester night (29th?)

Thomas, Friday, 9 May 2008 14:25 (eighteen years ago)

Dammit I just saw that Negative Approach are playing in Camden on the 24th June, but that's the night I'm seeing MBV. How inconsiderate of them.

Colonel Poo, Friday, 9 May 2008 16:35 (eighteen years ago)

I have a ticket for the NYC show on the 22nd. Super pumped, but I better not be let down, Mr. Shields.

jonathan - stl, Friday, 9 May 2008 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

Looks like it's mostly the "bands chosen by My Bloody Valentine" left to be announced at ATP - I hope they choose something other than more 90s shoegaze-related bands. Wouldn't be surprised if Sonic Youth played, although I don't care much either way about that.

Reatards Unite, Friday, 9 May 2008 17:55 (eighteen years ago)

O the sight if this was actually an O.G. MBV reunion... meaning the band that recorded This Is Your Bloody Valentine. surprise buttsecks.

Mackro Mackro, Friday, 9 May 2008 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

hahahahaha

get bent, Saturday, 10 May 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

Got tickets for Chicago. Curious to see who the opening act will be.

Have I mentioned how much I hate Ticket Master?

Bill in Chicago, Saturday, 10 May 2008 17:08 (eighteen years ago)

ME TOO

plus, i hate that the base price is $48. :-(

get bent, Saturday, 10 May 2008 17:09 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, the price approached my personal no go limit. (Any nonfestival show at fifty and up base price = to heck with it.)

But anyway, Mackro and I got tickets for Thursday. The last show...again!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 10 May 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sorry, I meant Moxy Fruvous

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 11 May 2008 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

akm, Sunday, 11 May 2008 17:03 (eighteen years ago)

Sean O'Hagan in the Guardian, yesterday. Some interesting bits.

In recent ATP New York news...

10th June 2008
NEW ADDITION: APSE

The latest addition to the September 20th lineup curated by ATP are Newtown, Connecticut's APSE.

Apse are set to re-issue their stunning Spirit LP on our own ATP Recordings label very soon, and we're pleased to be able to bring such a great band to the New York festival.

stephen, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

So any word on who is actually in the lineup of the band?

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 00:41 (eighteen years ago)

Kevin Shields & most of the members of Gene

J0hn D., Wednesday, 11 June 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

Shieldsy and the bassist from reformed texas band called Complete.
Additional guitar is going to be a sweet contribution from the original axe slayer from Pillsbury Hardcore.
