wack nerd zinging in the dead of night (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 16 July 2012 04:10 (thirteen years ago)

I really tried to make a track that sounded how I imagine AC's new record to sound, but I just couldn't get it sounding quite icky enough, and it all went a bit Stars Of The Lid in the middle instead, sending over in a little while Ned.

MaresNest, Monday, 16 July 2012 09:20 (thirteen years ago)

ned i sent the MP3 your way -- i think i forgot some of the info tag on itunes though but i guess you will probably do them all the same?

wack nerd zinging in the dead of night (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 16 July 2012 17:32 (thirteen years ago)

All good. Again, I'll start sorting through everything properly tonight after work!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 16 July 2012 17:33 (thirteen years ago)

♆ (gr8080), Monday, 16 July 2012 22:00 (thirteen years ago)

sarahell, Monday, 16 July 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)

its a pretty busy week for me so i'm not making any promises, but i just wanted to be prepared should i have the opportunity to offer my services

♆ (gr8080), Monday, 16 July 2012 22:19 (thirteen years ago)

looking forward to this, you guys

Mark G, Monday, 16 July 2012 23:35 (thirteen years ago)

Just sent my one there. Animal Collective sampled the Grateful Dead on their last EP, so clearly the next step for Fake Animal Collective was to sample noted Dead influence and jam band faves Herman's Hermits. Twas nearly an instrumental - voice is shot with a throat infection, but had enough lemon, honey, and Merocaine to squawk something out. The cover above looks amazing. Looking forward to this.

B-Boy Bualadh Bos (ecuador_with_a_c), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 01:17 (thirteen years ago)

Okay, am doing some sorting out now. To tide everyone over, Dan provided the lyrics for his "Pulleys" so a gift for you, the expectant listeners:

Take a break from being wiser

Don’t be in control tonight

When I’m here, you’ll find your eyes are

Seeing suffering with delight

I have all the things you need

To make you happy, satisfied

Just sit back and let me lead

Lose yourself to the ride

Magnify the force exerted

Let me take control

Follow me as I play with

The pulleys of your soul

Happiness is not an option

If I say it isn’t one

Every thought is by adoption

Something that I’ve already done

Taken to a lower level

Trusting me to see you through

People say I’m like the devil

But you know that is not true

(Don’t you?)

Magnify the force exerted

Let me take control

Follow me as I play with

The pulleys of your soul

Come to me, my little pet

Dance for me, my marionette

Tell me all your hopes and fears

Feed my lust with your sweet tears

You should know that I’ve decided

Things should get a little rough

When you bleed, I get excited

I know you can’t get enough

Questioning is not an option

If I say it isn’t one

Every thought is by adoption

Time for me to have some fun

Magnify the force exerted

Let me take control

Follow me as I play with

The pulleys of your soul

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:38 (thirteen years ago)

Also please reconfirm your nom de plumes of choice, otherwise I'll go with your ILX handles; I have a few of yours already, I realize.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:41 (thirteen years ago)

Crap, life got away from me here. Sorry man, I didn't mean to be a flake.

Hamster of Legend (J3ff T.), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:44 (thirteen years ago)

OUT or something.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:47 (thirteen years ago)

I am done, and sending this gesamtkunstwerk your way

sarahell, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 09:29 (thirteen years ago)

so what are we gonna do with the missing tracks ?
do we all agree on the dogs cover (which is so great I want a t-shirt of it) ?

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 09:42 (thirteen years ago)

I could retrieve a couple of my instrumentals..

Mark G, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 09:47 (thirteen years ago)

Feel free to send them along!

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 12:41 (thirteen years ago)

i'll take a look through my scrapheap this evening and see if there's anything polished enough to fill in for a missing track

ciderpress, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 13:03 (thirteen years ago)

does this need a track list / back cover? I can toss one together once there's a final list, assuming people actually are into the one I made or at least don't totally hate it or something

joygoat, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 13:27 (thirteen years ago)

are we sure those missing will not show up ?
regarding the back cover I don't think there was one for the previous ILX volumes but why not improve the product !

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 13:43 (thirteen years ago)

ILX/Bucket had one, although you'd only know if you had a hard copy

Mark G, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 13:59 (thirteen years ago)

I think it doesn't hurt to have backups that can plug holes; obv I think any claimed submissions that come in should have first dibs

PITILESS LIVE SHOW (DJP), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:03 (thirteen years ago)

Of course.

Mark G, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:10 (thirteen years ago)

yes of course, but I meant, do we have news from those missing ? Ned said some had officially dropped out but the others ?
we want the truth about our MIAs !

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:12 (thirteen years ago)

Sarahel's is in and I think that was the last 'for sure' one at this stage.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:25 (thirteen years ago)

I can't remember now, on LULU did I go by HI DERE or DJP

whichever one I used, please use it again

PITILESS LIVE SHOW (DJP), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:27 (thirteen years ago)

Will double check tonight.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:36 (thirteen years ago)

Oh and just AlXTC for me, you can drop the "from Paris" !

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:52 (thirteen years ago)

sorry to ask this again but when is our release date ?

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:53 (thirteen years ago)

Kinda hoping for Wednesday at this point -- honestly if we don't get 'complete' tracklistings I'm not too bothered.

Having heard everything so far it's good fun!

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:56 (thirteen years ago)

Can't wait !

AlXTC from Paris, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 14:58 (thirteen years ago)

Ned, I could maybe cobble together something a la my sound effects track for 'Today's Supernatural' by the end of tomorrow - that seems to be the only track that doesn't have a version down. But if nobody else cares, then... uh, I guess I won't.

emil.y, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 15:52 (thirteen years ago)

Sarahel has her version in so please contribute yours too if you'd like!

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 15:54 (thirteen years ago)

Aha, I didn't realise that one was hers - I'll see if I come up with anything, but I was more concerned about us having a version for each track, and if that's done then it's less urgent.

emil.y, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 15:55 (thirteen years ago)

Hey Ned, instead of ZS please use vveinventvou for mine. thanks!

your friend, (Z S), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 17:01 (thirteen years ago)

(those are double v's for the w, and v instead of y, as i plan on chiseling this name onto courthouses across the country in the near future)

your friend, (Z S), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 17:03 (thirteen years ago)

I don't remember what I tagged mine but I would like it to be credited to KDT.

Queue de Cheval (White Chocolate Cheesecake), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 18:56 (thirteen years ago)

Thanks, will do!

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 19:44 (thirteen years ago)

(the full name obv not the initials. p sure I did tag it like that)

Queue de Cheval (White Chocolate Cheesecake), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 19:46 (thirteen years ago)

ned you can credit our to me & chris's full government names

wack nerd zinging in the dead of night (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 19:47 (thirteen years ago)

"Joe and Joseph Josephfreson. Got it."

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2012 19:56 (thirteen years ago)

Okay, I'm going to call time on submissions as such, just so we can get this out the door. We have a 'complete' version for the first volume thanks to a ringer from DJP, plus most of the second volume, so we can call that the fake remix disc or something. Anyway! Final tracklisting:

--

MoonJock (Croydon Bass Mix) -- Karen D. Tregaskin
Today's Supernatural -- sarahell
Rosie Oh -- Mystery Meat
Applesauce -- Gavin, Leeds
Wide Eyed -- B-Boy Bualadh Bos (ecuador_with_a_c)
Father Time -- Charlie H
New Town Burnout -- (Matt and Chris's full government names)
Monkey Riches -- Scare Quotes
Mercury Man -- Grannykart
Pulleys -- ciderpress
Amanita -- AlXTC
Moonjock -- MaresNest
Rosie Oh -- Da Croupier
Wide Eyed -- Adam Bruneau
Father Time -- vveinventvou
New Town Burnout -- snoball
Pulleys -- DJP
Amanita -- Confounded

DJP's ringer track is credited to Mystery Meat, in that I assumed he would be pleased to have such a pseudonym.

Will post this here early tomorrow morning my time as a mediafire download.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 02:39 (thirteen years ago)

hahaha perfecto

PITILESS LIVE SHOW (DJP), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 03:57 (thirteen years ago)

Anyway just completed my final proper listen on this thing -- very amusing/listenable. I think our LULU effort was one in a million but this is another fine contribution to the canon.
