― blossom smulch (schlump), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 16:32 (thirteen years ago)
it's like this record's small ambient came to give love outro
can I just posit the idea that complaining about the lyrics of "Forrest Gump" when you have "Bad Religion" is some missing the forest for the trees-ass bullshit?

The week’s big story is controversial Def Jam/IDJ avant-R&B crooner Frank Ocean, a member of the L.A.-based hip-hop collective Odd Future, who will open with a very impressive 110-125k as an iTunes exclusive for his major label bow, Channel Orange.
― Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 11 July 2012 21:45 (thirteen years ago)
which I suppose means he won't suffer from a precipitous drop in sales next week.

pretty impressive, especially when you consider that Watch The Throne was the first high profile album to be released on iTunes a week ahead of its CD release, and that did 290k the first week.
― straight up now tell me will I be a fucking lump forever? (some dude), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 21:49 (thirteen years ago)

some of this record's so great; the slinky sequencer-snare-&-backbeats instrumentation on lost; the weird variety of pink matter, frank getting all high & hollering, the sluggish bass-pops & andre's worried verse; the lazy space of end. forrest gump works really well, too; it's so sweet-sounding & young, all i'll never forget you teenage bubblegum, cartoonish. the lyrics work, it's like a young love high school thing.

Why not use a verb less problematic than "admitted," journalists/writers?

i will forgive Hits Daily Double for "controversial" because of Following up RCA R&B bruiser Chris Brown’s #1 debut yesterday
