"you must be forrest gump because you've been running through my mind all day" is the worst pickup line ever though

This unrequited love
To me it's nothing but
A one-man cult
And cyanide in my styrofoam cup

This is a really good lyric I think - all of Bad Religion in fact.

i don't think he's necessarily using it as a pick up line -- i read it as frank talking to himself

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 11 July 2012 13:41 (thirteen years ago)

obviously i was joking and the song isn't a pickup, but it seems to me like he's definitely addressing the object of his affection and not himself. in any event turning the outro of juvenile's "ha" into a love song is hilariously awful.

straight up now tell me will I be a fucking lump forever? (some dude), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 13:44 (thirteen years ago)

basically his bad ideas seem to be on the level w/ the-dream's but the far more serious and emotional underpinnings make them even more glaring imo

straight up now tell me will I be a fucking lump forever? (some dude), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 13:46 (thirteen years ago)

worse than turning Back That Azz Up into a love song?

Number None, Wednesday, 11 July 2012 13:47 (thirteen years ago)

"back that azz up" is a love song

straight up now tell me will I be a fucking lump forever? (some dude), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 13:51 (thirteen years ago)

blossom smulch (schlump), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 16:32 (thirteen years ago)

it's like this record's small ambient came to give love outro

blossom smulch (schlump), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 16:32 (thirteen years ago)

can I just posit the idea that complaining about the lyrics of "Forrest Gump" when you have "Bad Religion" is some missing the forest for the trees-ass bullshit?

The week’s big story is controversial Def Jam/IDJ avant-R&B crooner Frank Ocean, a member of the L.A.-based hip-hop collective Odd Future, who will open with a very impressive 110-125k as an iTunes exclusive for his major label bow, Channel Orange.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 11 July 2012 21:45 (thirteen years ago)

which I suppose means he won't suffer from a precipitous drop in sales next week.

a regina spektor is haunting europe (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 11 July 2012 21:48 (thirteen years ago)

pretty impressive, especially when you consider that Watch The Throne was the first high profile album to be released on iTunes a week ahead of its CD release, and that did 290k the first week.

some of this record's so great; the slinky sequencer-snare-&-backbeats instrumentation on lost; the weird variety of pink matter, frank getting all high & hollering, the sluggish bass-pops & andre's worried verse; the lazy space of end. forrest gump works really well, too; it's so sweet-sounding & young, all i'll never forget you teenage bubblegum, cartoonish. the lyrics work, it's like a young love high school thing.

blossom smulch (schlump), Thursday, 12 July 2012 00:29 (thirteen years ago)

Why not use a verb less problematic than "admitted," journalists/writers?

Andy K, Thursday, 12 July 2012 01:11 (thirteen years ago)

i will forgive Hits Daily Double for "controversial" because of Following up RCA R&B bruiser Chris Brown’s #1 debut yesterday
