three months pass...

So no word on this album whatsoever, huh? sad.

Evan R, Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:03 (thirteen years ago)

didn't he essentially say he was giving up on his solo career when he took that job as exec a&r or w/e it was

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:04 (thirteen years ago)

ARGH. You got my hopes up.

O-Jah Da Lionmane (longneck), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:04 (thirteen years ago)

ah damn, never heard that. it always seemed like he was going forward full-throttle with the album, even though the label had the parking brake on the whole time. kinda hard to watch

i'm sorta betraying my sad attention to that yeezy forum, here, but afaik there are still def jam ads coming out w/NEW ALBUM FROM THE-DREAM SOON on. def jam are weird. i really hope he puts something out.

absurdly pro-D (schlump), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:35 (thirteen years ago)

Eh, I'm good with the three he released.

Luchinski pourin' from the sky, let's get rich (what) (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:36 (thirteen years ago)

you don't have to give them up if THE LOVE IV: DIARY OF AN EXECUTIVE A&R sucks

absurdly pro-D (schlump), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:39 (thirteen years ago)

I want that album.

O-Jah Da Lionmane (longneck), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:40 (thirteen years ago)

So, this is actually dropping some day?

Raymond Cummings, Tuesday, 30 October 2012 22:40 (thirteen years ago)

whole record of casha iirc xp

& i guess so?, i mean it has been rolled back a zillion times but he has a bunch of stuff that exists; there was that article (in rolling stone?) about a listening session w/like jams called equestrian (you can fill out the metaphorical territory of this teriusism) & w/dream walking around telling everyone the songs were about cocaine.

absurdly pro-D (schlump), Tuesday, 30 October 2012 23:01 (thirteen years ago)

def jam has gotten better in recent years about just going ahead and putting out records even if the commercial expectations for the artist have dwindled, so i wouldn't be surprised if they squeak this out sooner than later

Wait, what????

B-Rock & The Bizz was a hip-hop rap group consisting of producer Baron "B-Rock" Agee, his brother Leevirt Agee from New York City, Paul Costict, Maurice White, Albert Phillip, Mc Kay and Thaddeus "T-Bird" Maye from Mobile, Alabama. Together, Leevirt Agee, Paul Costict, Maurice White, Albert Phillip, and T-Bird Maye were known as The Bizz.

The group is best known for their hit single, "My Baby Daddy", which peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1997. The song was the group's only hit making them a one-hit wonder.

In 1999, Terius "The Dream" Nash replaced T-Bird Maye on the group's second album entitled Porkin' Beans & Wienes.

Evan R, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 19:29 (thirteen years ago)

not very shocking, dude's been kicking around the industry doing this and that for a long time

bish don't kill my bosch (some dude), Wednesday, 14 November 2012 19:40 (thirteen years ago)

If it's true, and I'm not sure that it is, it means that:

1. Terius worked hard as hell to scrub this from his resume

2. There may exist video of him performing "My Baby Daddy"

Evan R, Wednesday, 14 November 2012 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

we already done this?

乒乓, Monday, 26 November 2012 18:23 (thirteen years ago)

AK47 is less fatiguing but maybe I didnt need to hear about him fingerfucking

乒乓, Monday, 26 November 2012 18:25 (thirteen years ago)

(alternatively, “Respec’”) (forksclovetofu), Monday, 26 November 2012 18:26 (thirteen years ago)

I mean, yeah, in his prime he could have probably pulled off a concept album about it

Evan R, Monday, 26 November 2012 18:39 (thirteen years ago)

we've got miguel now

liljon /bia/ bia (k3vin k.), Monday, 26 November 2012 18:49 (thirteen years ago)

urgh please no either/or bullshit

The Doc Morbama (some dude), Monday, 26 November 2012 18:53 (thirteen years ago)

ha was that directed at me? maybe i should take out my displeasure at no one posting in my miguel poll by polling these two.....

nah tho

liljon /bia/ bia (k3vin k.), Monday, 26 November 2012 18:56 (thirteen years ago)

hey man that poll got 30+ votes, quit yer bellyachin

The Doc Morbama (some dude), Monday, 26 November 2012 19:02 (thirteen years ago)

not sure what i feel about "tender tendencies." I feel like the Weekend (to bring him into this) does what "Tender Tendencies" tries to by showing instead of telling. erius tells us he's self-centered; Tesfaye actually acts self-centered. He doesn't have to tell us this.

childish bambino (rennavate), Monday, 26 November 2012 19:36 (thirteen years ago)

feather-soft pillows of a track tho, gorgeous stuff

childish bambino (rennavate), Monday, 26 November 2012 19:37 (thirteen years ago)

Sort of intrigued by the thought of a Sophie's Choice between The-Dream and Miguel. I'd probably be Team Terius, but it would be a tough one

Evan R, Monday, 26 November 2012 20:08 (thirteen years ago)

or maybe we can listen to multiple R&B singers! or maybe not

Evan R, Monday, 26 November 2012 20:22 (thirteen years ago)

That article brings me so much irrational joy. Like, I had to re-read the whole thing again, just because you posted it

As I was saying, the 1977 remaster sounds MAGNIFICENT

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Friday, 14 December 2012 13:58 (thirteen years ago)

pity about the songwriting

Number None, Friday, 14 December 2012 13:59 (thirteen years ago)

Songwriting is great, man. I really don't understand why y'all think it isn't.

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Friday, 14 December 2012 14:32 (thirteen years ago)

what did you think of love king

k3vin k., Friday, 14 December 2012 19:24 (thirteen years ago)

Loved it.

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Friday, 14 December 2012 19:27 (thirteen years ago)

I mean, I know all of the 1977 songs by heart. They're great: perfect, bitter-but-uplifting breakup songs. And Form of Flattery is such a great diss.

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Friday, 14 December 2012 19:41 (thirteen years ago)

longneck I don't know if I can trust your opinion about anything anymore

乒乓, Friday, 14 December 2012 19:42 (thirteen years ago)

tsk tsk tsk

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Friday, 14 December 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)
