I do think sometimes lo-fi can be an annoying affectation (see Times New Viking)

ha yeah i thought that too about TNV until i saw them live and w/o that they were a fairly sloppy unremarkable bar rock band

wack nerd zinging in the dead of night (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 15 June 2012 20:26 (thirteen years ago)

That's funny. I think I might like them better as an unremarkable bar band. On the albums I've heard, they sound like an obnoxiously recorded unremarkable bar band.

o. nate, Friday, 15 June 2012 20:38 (thirteen years ago)

wtf guys what bars are you going to?

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 15 June 2012 20:44 (thirteen years ago)

OK, more like an obnoxiously-recorded third-tier '90s indie band.

Izzy Pod, Sunday, 8 July 2012 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

there were parts of your set at The Lab that were super awesome - the parts with more rhythmic junk percussion type stuff were rad.

sarahell, Sunday, 8 July 2012 21:48 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, I kinda gave up on the rhythmic stuff halfway through, since the synths were kinda drowning out the percussion

Izzy Pod, Monday, 9 July 2012 03:05 (thirteen years ago)

Haha yes they were!

sarahell, Monday, 9 July 2012 03:48 (thirteen years ago)

Edward III - tell me about Ed Schraders Music Beat

sarahell, Friday, 13 July 2012 19:52 (thirteen years ago)

i saw them they were good....imagine like noise dudes tried to form like a "beat combo" a la the monks...but it's sort of incredibly punishing live! but catchy and fun!

wack nerd zinging in the dead of night (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 13 July 2012 20:23 (thirteen years ago)

rad! will probably catch them on tour next month

sarahell, Friday, 13 July 2012 20:24 (thirteen years ago)

The new Nu Sensae album is streamable right now. INSANELY good. The 3 piece lineup works ok on the old songs they redid. Not worse or anything, it just sounds exactly like the old songs, but with the lead parts played on guitar. The new songs though, are AMAZING! Highly recommended, and it should silence anyone who doubted if they would still be as good as a 3 piece.

Izzy Pod, Friday, 3 August 2012 05:36 (thirteen years ago)

I guess I could google but where

vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Friday, 3 August 2012 14:31 (thirteen years ago)

copied from the nu-pigfuck thread :

not pigfuck per se, but dope body's 'natural history' is giving me some cows/jesus lizard vibes - along with some flipper/melvins plodding along the way. and helmet's notion of groove, i guess?

tho, in this case the confrontational posture of some of these bands is put aside for some welcoming goofiness...
