you are correct I will and I am pretentious...
i will always be humble and not act like an elitist snob that doesn't promote or associate with struggling artists....
or people that I like no matter who they are....
I will never be as pretentious and phony as most of the people who live and die for who's who...and being famous is the major goal...so they can sneer at people and look down their noses...
I will not do this....but I may look down at pretentious people...who were looking down at me....
I will assure you, I will never do that to other people...

I meant NOT...but I am so busy I can barely write a message here...

Joachim is one of many men who felt very uncomfortable with my talent, height and looks...

he had to beat me down and couldn't write nice letter...
He had to act like I am less then the music industry...

this sort of attitude is pervasive..and it is what is killing our culture...
this hatred towards exceptional artists and people, is what is making all of the music so bland...

If people like Joachim weren't so intimidated and jealous of people with talent, we would have a great culture....

anyway.....
he was such a jerk....
I wrote him such nice messages and paid him such wonderful compliments that he never returned..
He returned my compliments with insults....

I am sure his limping ego is doing well with someone who has no money, no talent and is not doing anything significant with their lives....
Joachim ends up with an ordinary housewife, and I become famous...ahahhahahha

sweet revenge...success if the best...and lasting success....not a flash in the pan...that is why I can't be here all the time....
I am on my way to success..and fame....
not putting out crap...but actually success for doing something noticably good.

when I type very quickly, I usually make many mistakes and then people think that I can't speak-a-da-english.
Joachim was majorly into status, something he will never have..
He is in NYC...the land of people who seek status like it is gold in a gold mine.

Yet he will never posess status.

I will.

Soon enough..I am confident about this...and now I finished my 3 chapter and test....
and only have two more chapters to go, and then I finish my recording....
and it is almost done...I have to spend all night micing and tweeking knobs ....
anyway, I shall overcome people who don't want talented people to be anything....

Joachim was sooooooo discouraging...I hope his limping ego is being built up as he finds some other person to dump on .

People who have to discourage artists...are people who are never going to be anything.
I received very abusive letters from the flecktones who also said I will never be anything....and then Bela and tones are cut from their company...and they are not going to gigging like this much longer.
People who are highly insecure about who they love to insult people who are going to end up having more status then they ever had....that is a fact.

It is very interesting that over the years, I have met soooooooooo many people who told me that I will never be anything....

so many people putting me down...saying that I can do anything right....
and low and behold, the radio is not void of talented people....
because so many people wish talented people would be nothing...

they don't want talented people to have status and to anything.
I have met so many people who wished I were dead, nothing and were hoping that would never succeed in anything.

If we didn't have so many people who wished talented people would never succeed, our radios would be filled with great music and great culture right now. I think that Joachim's neysaying attitude is an epidemic.

I don't want to be known as Marissa marchant..
the reason is ...I told some people to "F" and I wasn't drinking.
I was just depressed. My parents were sick and it is long story...
I was not thinking clearly, and it is shame...but I will never give an interview to people in that state again...or to people I don't know. they could stick in words I didn't say...
I also don't want people to get the wrong impression about me.
Just because I was one way two years ago...doesn't mean that I stay the same...
My life has changed. I couldn't record for years..and didn't live in the proper environment and needed to get a loan..
I wasn't living well...but now I am...
so my outlook and music has changed..

I don't want to be known as a person who tears down people in the industry...
I don't want to be known as someone who attacks flashes in a pan who's careers don't last....
I have alot of ideas....and anyway,

I do need forget men like Joachim who don't add anything to the lives of others, but only take .....
His name is pronounced.."ochim"
He is one of these status seekers ..and people who seek to put other people down and marginalize them.
I met many people like this in NYC....etc...
The people are not opened, but very elitist....
so elitist in fact....just breathing their air, they will make you feel that you are not worthy...
He claimed he was a doctors son, and acted like I am nothing and he was mr. connected....
I make a bet MR. connected is making NO money.....
the kind of person who sneers at talented people, claiming that their money is supeior to your talents...Lot of folk like this in NYC....
they always want to let you know that their money can buy everything ....and that your talent is meaningless to their material things....and connections to the big girls and big boys...

It's weird, I know. The more you put yourself out there, the more certain people will distort who you are and what you say. Small people will take what you give them and misuse it. So you have to protect yourself. That's true, but you still have to remain willing to take people at face value -- really trust them.

To do this, you basically have to ignore the people who try to tear you down. Never fixate on the bad stuff. That's just a way to poison yourself. Joachim may have done this or that, but it doesn't matter. It's only as important as you make it. So let it disappear. And do what you're meant to do.

No matter how things seem, the truth is this: the world wants talented, creative people to succeed. We want you to do wonderful things for us. So do them. And let us know.

I had a huge attraction and romantic inclination towards Joachim for three years....
I always hope for the best and get let down...it is always the same negativity and pompous elitism...
I am a very positive person...but the people I meet have beat me down....
I am not like this to them first...
that is why I had a bad attitude for a couple years...

Maybe things will change...but right now, I am not convinced that people want talented people to succeed....everyday on people we see people who are not artists...and they focus on these people....
they want them to succeed....
people that talk about their drug problems, baby problems and marriage problems every week and nothing about talent.....

I hear what you're saying, M. Lots of the wrong people succeed for the wrong reasons. And that can be discouraging. Thing is, there's good and bad in the world. And you have to fight for the good. To do that, you have to stop worrying about the bad. It's just a distraction. It doesn't even have to exist.

Music lawyers told me that you don't need to be a man killer to make it in music..and then mentioned Lisa Loeb....
and he told me that I don't make anyone look pale....
I am sure he is not making money right now...as a music laywer and Lisa was not one of his clients...

He talked to me with no sort of respect....and no interest in my talent at all..
His concentration was on my looks .....

He was implying that he favor women like Lisa who were born rich ...who were not tall and not man killers who also were not going have a lasting career.

that is what they like...people who don't last...so they can go from one person after another and no one gets to be a real star....
everyone is a star for 15 minutes...

that is what they are looking for...
Joachim also, amoung many other men who insulted me as a woman and person...say the same things in their head when they decide not to get to know me....'you know, I don't need a man killer...to excite me....just a woman born into money..."
I am sure Joachim has a woman similar to Lisa Loeb since he is similar to that laywer who liked women who were that type of girl....and not my type...

they want "rich people" to succeed...they have a nipitism club going on in NYC.....
and in cali....
If you haven't noticed the NIPITISM sydrome that has been going on.

Men think more of rich women then they do man killers..and talented women....

and i was not trying to promote my looks...it is just that men don't like certain kinds of women in todays world....

The attitude is all this...who are you?
in NYC>..joachim had to let me know that he was in the IN group....the connected rich people group...his father was a doctor, a heart surgeon...and he never encouraged...but only insulted me on the net..and acted like he was too IN to talk to me and be my friend....
and harassed my phone.....
at 2am...
the IN group in NYC is so tight....rich people wish to dominate and don't want to acknowledge people who are not rich who are talented.....
and the rich are supporting mostly...ONLY the rich.....

and the lawyer asked for money and if i couldn't pay, goodbye...
and told me my talent wasn't anything...

literally....
at another record company, the man asked me what my father did for a living....

I will overcome this NEPITISM sydrome....and these people who think that money is superior to talent....

The only time I ever hear about Béla Fleck anymore is when you bring him up.
I just looked him up and I had no idea he'd won 8 Grammies, including one this year for Best Contemporary Jazz Album! Still, I don't think he's on a lot of people's radar, at least around here.

I am sure there are many people out there who play jazz circles around him and compose to blast him to smitherines....
I am sure of it....
if you know anything about jazz..brubeck..and old jazz...and progressive jazz....

Bela's grammies are meaningless....

there are many virtuosos on the net.....
who play beautiful instruments...

He was born rich.....
he has some talent...but not the talent they have implying....
same thing with amy grant who's father is a rich doctor...and she really hired everyone to make her sound like something better....
duncan sheik is now on broadway...and he comes from serious doe...serious money....

However, GReg Lake from Emerson Lake and Palmer...the beatles...STreisand and many old timers....
were so much better and were born into nothing...
GReg Lake lived in a project....
he was so poor and he and Robert Fripp lived in a Van ...on their equipment...
I think Greg Lake at least contributed something of beauty into the world....
and I like Keith Emerson's arrangments....
Keith also came from nothing....
they are also better in quality.

Abigial Washburn was just given record contract..and from the richest section of Illinois...called Evaston...
Bela was born into money and now she is his girlfriend...
and I think she is very blah....

nothing like GReg Lake..or anyone from a previous period that earned their careers to some degree....
There seems to be such a pomposity in the world today with people who are born into money....

Duncan's sister Kacie is promoting herself....
and duncan only talks to and promotes the rich.....
years ago.....people didn't just buy their fame,,, not like today...

i like some of their music..i like elp better....
i really think Keith was a very good arranger...and greg in his early days was quite a good singer and excellent guitarist and bassist....
very creative stuff....at least there was something there.. and greg lake was a tall, gorgeous and built man....when he was young..wow...and was born into poverty...lived in a project...with aespestos...

no one would associate with these people in todays world...the elite are not too good to talk to people like this....
