I feel kinda weird hyping my own band as 'totes awesome,' but this was a last-minute booking, so we can use all the peeps we can get. If any Twin Citians are looking for a free thing to do tonight, I'm playing at Lee's Liquor Lounge, 9:30. (Love the place, and this is the first time I've been able to get my new band in there.)

i just saw tips for twat recently and they were really odd and compelling. guitars kind of in a US maple mode, but in a slow, quiet way, lots of empty space. and moaning.

Headed to Minneapolis for the first time ever in October.
Any recommendations re: venues, local artists?

I don't know about local artists these days, but two Oct. shows that look intersting are Mike Watt @ the Turf Club (St. Paul) on 10/7 and Com Truise @ the Triple Rock (Mpls) on 10/17.

october 4th - firewater w/ani cordero at the cedar cultural center.
october 19th - witch mountain w/castle at the turf club.

i saw swans last time....was definitely universe pummeling! but i don't know if i can take it again

i read somewhere that xiu xiu is super bad on this tour, he is just purposely being as abrasive as possible, which could be cool but mostly just sounds annoying, will show up hoping i miss most of it. swans were pretty pummeling last time but not overly loud, sorta hoping they amp it up this time around, i want to be almost unbearably loud. ahahahaha i'm excited
