I actually like Fight for Your Right more now than I did when it came out, but I really didn't like it when it came out. Took me hearing more of the album to decide they weren't no-talent jerks.

I had Paul Revere & Fight in my top 10 and No Sleep & Rhymin in the bottom 10. Cut the New Style and She's Crafty at the last minute, so depressing

"fight for yr right" was not one of my favorite tracks on LTI, it was OK but seemed like a "she's on it" retread and, compared to the other stuff on the album, was punching below their weight. then the single hit and it became really annoying really quickly. at this point I don't hate it and get the cultural significance but also never need to hear it again.

I mean, "Fight For Your Right" and "Girls" are barely rap songs, which is why they rank so low for me. Even alt-rock stuff like "Sabotage" and "Gratitude" have more rapping on them!

"Hold It" and "New Style" were probably the purest "of-their-era" rap songs in the entire Beasties discography, which is why its probably been sampled the most by rappers!

my appreciation of "fight for your right" has nothing to do with how rap it is or isn't. i just like it.

but that's me. don't suppose there's anything wrong with rapness rankings.

I feel like Sabotage and Gratitude have equally as much rap as FFYR, but get the rock thing so much more correct.
