Argh! I just looked this up and they were selling the bundle of tapes from Burger Records, but they're all gone.

If I was blown away on first listen by the record w/ White Fence, what Segall should I check out next?

If you liked "Hair," you should also get the S/T LP by Mikal Cronin, who is in Ty Segall's band - that album rules.

Yep that Cronin lp from last year is superb. Anybody heard Slaughterhouse yet? I think it comes out next month.

hair is awesome, they started the set with WF dudes & played a few songs off of it (the first two iirc) so 70's though after they got off stage & ty segall band was on it a noticeable blast step back to the 60's

Really enjoying "Hair" despite not being keen on Ty Segall's previous work. This LP is nothing new but it works really well. Not sure where to start with White Fence but I should check some of his stuff out

Shit, I thought the Men were FANTASTIC when I saw them a couple of months ago! They had a great female bassist with them then who I don't think is in the band anymore. But they were totally ferocious; the drummer's a monster.

one of Ty Segall's encores was a cover of Gimme Some Money by the Thamesmen, from Spinal Tap. lolol.

all the stuff from Melted sounded incredible. Girlfriend and Finger were probably my favorites of the set.

yep. people I was with (people who see way too many shows) were like, "this show felt 'important' in a way most shows don't."

After a few spins I think it is equal to his best albums which is high praise. Although Tell Me What's Inside Your Heart and Wave Goodbye sound like two of his best ever songs. I will probably have changed my mind by next week and consider it his best album!

never really listened to him before tonight, i got the death by audio 3xLP and it came with a 12" of his first show in new york in 2008. it's rad- i love the context and the vibe- not many people there, crowd chatting a bit, segall says he's psyched to be in new york. dude has a massive discography, what's a good place to start?

Melted's a great starting place, also the Singles comp on Goner, or the live at Aisle 5 LP.

"freedom's goblin" is a terrific album. i wouldn't have even bothered checking it out but a co-worker put it on and now i can't stop listening. it goes so many different and wonderful places! and the songwriting is really stellar. leagues beyond the yelps and hackneyed "psych" tropes i've come to expect from him, john dwyer et al.

I thought the covers album was really boring, like a high school covers band. Ty at his best is brilliant - Freedom's Goblin often is. But Fudge Sandwich felt like a certain period of Robert Pollard stuff, where he's more into making "product" than actual good records (tho the Lennon cover was strong).

Harmonizer is pretty good, I like the glossy glam vibe.

This guy has kind of fallen off the ilx radar a little it seems, new one ("Hello, Hi") is another really good one. Mostly acoustic, pretty chill, but still filled with gems.
