I need more music from them. They've fallen a bit quiet lately. :/

Wasn't there an announcement a month or so ago that they had some new material in the works for release on Tri Angle?

it's sad the perfect lullaby turned out to be a fluke :/

r|t|c, Monday, 18 June 2012 21:18 (thirteen years ago)

I think i agree

Number None, Monday, 18 June 2012 21:25 (thirteen years ago)

I think my favorite mix they've done is the XLR8R one, never was as hot on Perfect Lullaby as some others around here

fanute gingrich (The Reverend), Monday, 18 June 2012 21:31 (thirteen years ago)

i don't really like their original music at all

J0rdan S., Monday, 18 June 2012 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

i'm more talking about their actual production work though

Number None, Monday, 18 June 2012 21:34 (thirteen years ago)

ha xp

Number None, Monday, 18 June 2012 21:34 (thirteen years ago)

ah, i love their productions

fanute gingrich (The Reverend), Monday, 18 June 2012 21:36 (thirteen years ago)

I don't think i've actively liked anything from Night Slugs/Fade to Mind in quite a while

Number None, Monday, 18 June 2012 21:38 (thirteen years ago)

oh i guess the Girl Unit EP was ok

Number None, Monday, 18 June 2012 21:41 (thirteen years ago)

I think the Gremino EP is the only thing on FtM I haven't completely obsessed over.

iyo who does the best/most consistent dj mixes?

un® (dayo), Monday, 18 June 2012 22:28 (thirteen years ago)

uhm i don't really listen to internet mixes of the kind i think you're asking of me, since you're asking on this thread

i like dj q on 1xtra and the butterz crew on rinse and check them on the regular but those are garage/grime specific radio shows

something like perfect lullaby i only originally checked out to know my enemy but instead i was pleasantly surprised

r|t|c, Monday, 18 June 2012 23:46 (thirteen years ago)

lol at this

Tim F, Monday, 18 June 2012 23:53 (thirteen years ago)

i'm not one to press anyone into liking this or that but thinking of someone not into their work makes me feel literal pity

Moodles, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 14:26 (thirteen years ago)

is their name a reference to yellowman's "zungguzungguguzungguzeng"?

the late great, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 20:10 (thirteen years ago)

one would have assumed so

r|t|c, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 20:11 (thirteen years ago)

as someone who hasn't really been impressed by this whole fade to mind thing, i wonder what the difference is you see between "perfect lullaby" and everything else, rob

the late great, Wednesday, 4 July 2012 20:17 (thirteen years ago)

fwiw, the name is a reference to a Solomon Islands deity, often carved into figureheads for boats. Here's a huge one: http://www.solomonstarnews.com/news/business/5243--nguzunguzu-attracts-visitors

rob, Thursday, 5 July 2012 14:25 (thirteen years ago)

f2m isn't just nguzunguzu, not sure why a mixtape is being compared to a whole label? but for example rizzla's stuff is a bit too hard to fit in on the other tracks on perfect lullaby.

camp lo magellan (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 02:35 (thirteen years ago)

Yes, let's compare two people of color to two people best known for being racists who don't even make similar music.

chain the color of am0n (The Reverend), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:29 (thirteen years ago)

I don't even know wtf this band sounds like I'm just trollin

big-mammed punisher (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 04:20 (thirteen years ago)

yeah new EP is kinda-sorta boring, but I love "no longer" and "drop cage"... "smoke alarm" is cool, other two are very blah

i'm a housewife, an artist, and a snow leopard (The Brainwasher), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 04:30 (thirteen years ago)

"stroke alarm" would have been better

haha physical therapy put that tulisa remix on there!

bitch I'm on the 242 (lex pretend), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 18:17 (thirteen years ago)

I guess this is the de facto Physical Therapy thread? Where do I find more music as joyous as One of Those Days (Organ Mix) by Seany Mac? (N.B. ILM Dance Aficionados)

chain the color of am0n (The Reverend), Tuesday, 17 July 2012 20:04 (thirteen years ago)

three months pass...

i'm pretty damn late to the party, but the minutes before/during the nicki minaj part of the "perfect lullaby" mix are totally sublime. the whole thing is great, but those few minutes but it way over the top.
