i'm sure it's more a matter of some intern hitting 'publish' than miggy in the studio until the wee hours last night trying to get THREE WHOLE SONGS tracked and mixed in time

also i think i dig "quickie" more than "sure thing" now... the production on quickie is so great. the way those spindly guitar lines sorta slowly float away, the liveness of the drums. it's all very post-coital.

J0rdan S., Friday, 27 April 2012 18:03 (fourteen years ago)

i pretty much shake my first at each and every notion that anything is better than "sure thing" but "quickie" is pretty great, yeah

✧✧✧✧✧✧@are.forever (some dude), Friday, 27 April 2012 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

that whole album, man. "hard way" is my fav sleeper cut

dharunravir (k3vin k.), Friday, 27 April 2012 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

thx for the nabs link, i'll have to remember to read that

dharunravir (k3vin k.), Friday, 27 April 2012 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

err i meant "teach me". "hard way" is good too tho

dharunravir (k3vin k.), Friday, 27 April 2012 18:38 (fourteen years ago)

We're discussing the release of this thing like we're waiting for Papa John's to deliver that large pie.

digging it

dayo, Saturday, 28 April 2012 13:49 (fourteen years ago)

yea 'party life' is p good. feel like it'd serve for some p killer remixes

johnny crunch, Saturday, 28 April 2012 13:54 (fourteen years ago)

"ooh ahh" is old tho :(

dharunravir (k3vin k.), Saturday, 28 April 2012 14:24 (fourteen years ago)

Weakest of the three, though that's not really an insult

Evan R, Saturday, 28 April 2012 16:19 (fourteen years ago)

yeah - I find it to be the most even though, like all three songs mesh and flow better than the other two EPs

dayo, Saturday, 28 April 2012 16:23 (fourteen years ago)

though arch n point -> ...all is the best 1-2 combo

dayo, Saturday, 28 April 2012 16:23 (fourteen years ago)

Yes. "Candles in the Sun" drifts; it's as if he wants to sound like the Gaye of Here, My Dear without having thought through how to realize his political pretensions.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 28 April 2012 16:24 (fourteen years ago)

It seems a little odd he choose the 3x-free EP format, since he doesn't seem like a very prolific songwriter. Seems to record at a slow pace, and he sometimes recycles songs ("Strawberry Amazing" as a single; "Ooh Ahh.") I don't mind, since those are good songs and he's perfecting them, I just don't want the new album (if there is one) to be the other songs from Mischief

Evan R, Saturday, 28 April 2012 16:27 (fourteen years ago)

guys

I can't get "Arch & Point" out of my head.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:49 (fourteen years ago)

what order is this one supposed to be in

J0rdan S., Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:50 (fourteen years ago)

is ooh ahh from an old mixtape

J0rdan S., Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

the tracks are numbered, no?

Number None, Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

not on my download (which is the official)

mine goes, candle ->ooh ahh -> party life

J0rdan S., Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:54 (fourteen years ago)

it's the opposite way round

Number None, Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:54 (fourteen years ago)

that's backwards

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:55 (fourteen years ago)

is ooh ahh from an old mixtape

it's from mischief, yeah

dharunravir (k3vin k.), Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:55 (fourteen years ago)

is it the same version or rerecorded?

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:55 (fourteen years ago)

i'm not sure, i had a 7 minute car ride this morning and skipping after th first minute of that gave me time to finish the last song , ha

dharunravir (k3vin k.), Saturday, 28 April 2012 21:57 (fourteen years ago)

Love the new EP, great series!

(except for 'Broads', which I have deleted)

MikoMcha, Sunday, 29 April 2012 09:47 (fourteen years ago)

Finally listening to all these, loving it so far.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:19 (fourteen years ago)

incidentally have we covered what "That I Do (FTRMX)" is exactly, is there an original non-remix version that's been out there since before the EP?

some dude, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

wouldn't make it the ideal format for him? trickling out 9 or fewer new songs between albums would make more sense than splattering out a couple of 50-minute mixtapes or a weekly series

some dude, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:28 (fourteen years ago)

xpost -- I was going to ask that, that and "...All" are my favorites so far.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:28 (fourteen years ago)

i almost want to start a poll but i would feel bad about the slightly overrated "Adorn" crushing everything else

some dude, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:29 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think it's a sure thing that adorn would triumph over all the others

dayo, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

dude have you seen some of the hyperbole itt about that song

some dude, Monday, 30 April 2012 14:44 (fourteen years ago)

ha I was going to start a poll last night. I may yet.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 30 April 2012 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

"Adorn" will not top my list.
