A Strange Day never sounded better. I listened to Pornography three times right through before I even thought about the extras disk.

I didn't think it was possible for me to love this album more, but I do.

Properly printed full colour artwork will be included.
This is going to take a little while to collate folks so be patient, but the first CD tracklist should be along in a day or two.

There's a good version of A Japanese Dream from a BBC broadcast in Birmingham 87. What other Kiss Me tracks are we interested in?

At the moment I'm digging out 84/Top-era stuff, got lovely versions of The Wailing Wall, The Empty World and Caterpillar lined up, oh and Secrets!

Also I found an early version of Charlotte Sometimes too that I'd totally forgotten about, the second time played live according to Bob.

Please keep the suggestions coming, they are really helpful.

No idea about Ariel, will check up if they played it ever.

Got a couple of Snakepits, also have a version of The 13th (it was only played 5 times) quality is not amazing as it's an audience recording, but it's quite listenable, with a bit of tweaking it should be okay.

Looks like the "Japanese Whispers" songs will all be part of the "The Top" reissue. Unless they reissue "Japanese Whispers" itself, but I doubt that.

As Ned mentioned above:

Good lord, so the next set of rereleases will cover the Glove, Japanese Whispers stuffage in some form and The Top. OH HOW SAD AND HORRIBLE.

Also, Japanese Whispers is right around the time when The Cure started doing more 12" remixes (even though there is an extended version of "Primary" that, AFAIR, isn't on the Faith reissue), so I assume those remixes will populate that reissue. Also, when was Concert recorded and released? Maybe, it might be a two-fer?

Concert was recorded/released following The Top, and is notable because it captures the lineup in transition towards (but not yet near) Thee Classic Smith/Gallup/Thompson/Williams/Tolhurst songwriting credit era of yore. A two-fer is entirely possible -- and indeed, I muttered my wish on that above. ;-)

I'm excited about the Japanese Whispers, Blue Sunshine, and The Top reissues... but I have to admit.. I wish I cold fast forward time and get to the Head On The Door, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, and Disintegration reissues.

Virtue is a patience. Besides, sometimes I secretly think The Top is, if not the best album Robert ever did, in ways the most bizarrely adventurous -- almost completely schizophrenic sonically, a solo album in all but name, at once extremely dreamy and very aggressive. Any album with "Shake Dog Shake," "Wailing Wall," "Give Me It," "Dressing Up," and the title track on it -- *and* had "The Caterpillar" as a lead single! -- is at once wonderful and completely off balance. Sure, Kiss Me in ways parallels the same sprawling sense and then some, but in a way that's more band-centered as opposed to run amuck in the studio.

I really love The Top as well. There are a ton of demos for that LP--I hope he does Concert separately--perhaps the full concert even!

Someone was asking about a studio version of Forever--I think there is an odd Peel session of that. And Ariel I always thought was more of a Robert Smith solo outing so I don't believe it was ever done live.

The Glove reissue has nothing to do with this campaign. Japanese Whispers, having already been covered with Greatest Hits and Join The Dots will not be in the next batch. The next batch, out in September, will be comprised of The Head On The Door, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, and Disintegration. You heard it here first.

Kind of remember reading a Robert Smith interview once where he said The Top had been mastered at the wrong speed (I think he meant "pressed", but "mastered" was the word he used). Wonder if that'll be corrected. Either way, I love it as it stands and can't wait for the reissue, along with Blue Sunshine.

There was a good long while where The Top was my favorite Cure album, mostly because it's completely awesome but partially because I was trying to avoid the Pornography/Disintegration stereotype. Eventually "Siamese Twins" won me over but MAN The Top is awesome.

The Top is the first Cure album I ever owned and so still ranks as my favorite. I was always surprised to see that it was generally thought of as one of their lesser albums (by critics, or something)
