ROCKERS Guns’n’Roses have requested the front row of their Scots gig is filled by stunning models.
The legendary band, fronted by Axl Rose, contacted a model agency to demand 20 of their prettiest girls for their gig at Glasgow’s SECC on Friday.
Sources claim the Sweet Child of Mine and Paradise City rockers are keen to have eye-candy in the front row during their gig.
The band’s promoter invited 20 models, from All Talent – The Sonia Scott Agency, to join them backstage after the concert.
The band will then party into the night with the girls.
A source said: “The band’s promoter contacted Sonia and asked if she could provide the band with models for the gig.
“He asked Sonia for 20 of her prettiest models to stand in the front row and wow the band while they’re performing.
“The girls have then been invited to join Axl and the boys backstage for drinks and they’ve even asked Sonia if she can arrange a party for the band.”
Our source revealed the band have a soft spot for Scottish girls.

what an embarrassment for All Talent – The Sonia Scott Agency, to have this private business transaction splashed into the press

after like a decade of kneejerk-defending these guys, i've come to feel a lot more ambivalent about them. i'd still defend 'appetite' as a near-perfect album, but even there axl's lyrics and persona often come off as so fucking dumb. so many moments i once thought of as being his 'cool' moments just sound so forced and stupid now -- 'take that one to heart!', etc.

appetite is way more dumb than UYI

appetite might be dumber but there's at least 1/3 of UYI that's just straight up trying to hard. I'll take dumb over that. (And I do like a lot of UYI, but there's a lot of it that is horribly dated)
― Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 23 May 2012 21:22 (fourteen years ago)

yeah appetite has no pretentiousness problems

"Put 20 of your prettiest models in the front row. Then put your second prettiest models in the second row. Then the third prettiest models in the third row. And so on, until you've run out of girls. Then take the girls in the last row, put them in the front row, and tell them they are now the prettiest."

I got an email yesterday from Time Out's attempt at doing Groupon. They were pushing 2 for 1 ticket sales on the GNR nights @ London's O2 Arena. It really does not look as if it is selling very well.

my girlfriend heard me listening to "One in a Million" the other day. When the lines "Immigrants and faggots / They make no sense to me / They come to our country / And think they'll do as they please"came on, she perked up and said matter-of-factly, "Faggots come from Faggotland." LOLZORS
― Poliopolice, Wednesday, 13 June 2012 16:59 (thirteen years ago)
btw, does anyone understand how the chorus of that song is related to the verses? I don't really get it.
― Poliopolice, Wednesday, 13 June 2012 17:00 (thirteen years ago)
i've never heard it -- is it worth listening to?
― Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 13 June 2012 18:01 (thirteen years ago)
it's the most controversial GNR song. It's well liked as a tune, but certain sentiments are disturbing.
― Poliopolice, Wednesday, 13 June 2012 18:12 (thirteen years ago)
there was a lot of controversy over that manson song they covered, but it was a pretty weak song...

Sigggghhhh. The two phrases relate to the two groups separately. It's a lyrical trick. The next line makes it clearer "Like start some mini-Iran, or spread some fucking disease."

I feel like the Republicans should start blasting this during their rallies.

But, hey, lyrics that deal with the world in a rational way are the least interesting.

i never bothered with Lies so i've been hearing about that song for 20 years before finally giving it a listen on Spotify because of this thread. pretty lame, lyrics definitely not redeemed by the music remotely as much as on "Get In The Ring" or anything.
― bronytheus (some dude), Thursday, 14 June 2012 18:19 (thirteen years ago)
why are you listening to Lies when you should be listening to the Bee Gees

just from this sampling, I'd say "get in the ring" represents a maturation in lyric craft. less show-offy is better.
