"Get On the Garbus"

heated debate over derpy hooves (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 14:03 (fourteen years ago)

had never heard of roomrunner before until just now, i guess that's a heads up that i should avoid them?

some dude, Tuesday, 17 April 2012 14:06 (fourteen years ago)

nostalgia wants me to vote "Make the Music With Your Mouth, Biz"

heated debate over derpy hooves (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 14:10 (fourteen years ago)

I am not a true rap head, so I'm just gonna spam the hell out of this thread

you can expect punches, kicks and even worse (frogbs), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 14:20 (fourteen years ago)

Jilly Boel and the Eltones (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 15:45 (fourteen years ago)

can't believe Alone Again was not a single

Jilly Boel and the Eltones (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 15:49 (fourteen years ago)

yeah everyone's definitely laughing AT hipster usic getting a perfect storm of butthurt out of Roomrunner exploring his sub-Onion right to enjoy every piece of pop culture no matter how garbussy

I consider myself a pretty decent reader of prose and I literally have no idea what this could possibly mean

same old song and placenta (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 16:21 (fourteen years ago)

glad it wasn't just me lol

Jilly Boel and the Eltones (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 16:24 (fourteen years ago)

i was afraid his logorrhea was heading away from dennis miller and into mark leyner territory lately, but then he sprinted right past that into jagger country

some dude, Tuesday, 17 April 2012 16:30 (fourteen years ago)

how i babelfish it down to an extent
- whiney sees himself as a hipster version of ilx poster usic
- he considers some dude's posting itt as getting more and more butthurt
- refers to some dude as "Roomrunner", an obscure baltimore band reference
- "sub-Onion right to enjoy every piece of pop culture" - apparently some dude is guilty of something the Onion is notorious for i.e. enjoying all pop culture
- "garbussy" - 'garbagey' combined with something that probably refers to something else, some kind of "trending topic" perhaps

whiney, how'd i do?

lebron traveled (am0n), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 17:04 (fourteen years ago)

guys, it's hard to write coherently when your eyes are running red with the narcissism of small differences. We've all been there.

some dude, Tuesday, 17 April 2012 17:17 (fourteen years ago)

Jilly Boel and the Eltones (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 18:02 (fourteen years ago)

some dude, Tuesday, 17 April 2012 18:06 (fourteen years ago)

man down (D-40), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 18:32 (fourteen years ago)

the chorus of "spring again" is a little too much for me

Bennie & the Jets was a single

it was a flexidisc inside a magazine

┗|∵|┓ (sic), Tuesday, 17 April 2012 22:26 (fourteen years ago)

...which is to say, a single.

Three Word Username, Wednesday, 18 April 2012 06:51 (fourteen years ago)

a single is something that's eligible for the singles chart imo. I don't think a flexi is, as you're not buying the record, you're buying the magazine & you get the flexi with it. a flexi is its own thing. there's disparate us/uk rules that muddy the waters (your single is ineligible for the charts in the UK if it has more than one song per side) but I think "released as a standalone 7" is a fair enough rule for "single"

same old song and placenta (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Wednesday, 18 April 2012 07:08 (fourteen years ago)

My jukebox full of the backs of cereal boxes begs to differ with you. But, as I said, I voted "Nobody Beats" anyway, despite the draconian music-business-insider pedantry of this poll. It is also a better song than Bennie, but by just a hair.
