I dunno. I <heart> S-K more than any other grrl group, but mainly because I haven't really researched further into the genre. I was figuring on doing S-K (about 90 songs) and offshoots/prehistory/posthistory involving Tucker or Brownstein (Excuse 17, Heavens To Betsy, Cadallaca etc.).

Pumpkins poll would be awesome, I have this fear it would basically be like me, Ned and Euler though....

Someone should do an Australian tracks (or albums? or bands??) poll, cos there could be a good amount a variety without there being a completely insane amount of choice (at least not for a non-specialist like me). Think the results could be quite unpredictable (?)

Also a reggae tracks poll could be amazing.

Think Nick Cave would sweep just because of familiarity. Actually a Nick Cave poll would be interesting (I'm not volunteering for this one).

A Flying Nun poll would be pretty goddamn great though.

Combination Aus/NZ poll would be great! Tall Dwarfs, Saints, Scientists, Birthday Party, Clean, Dead C, Flying Nun in general, AC/DC, INXS, Enz/Finn/etc., Radio Birdman, Rose Tattoo...

Australia could easily have its own poll, but I'm not sure NZ could...it would be more fruitful to poll them together.

Personal preference would be a separate Church poll but I'm that crazy of a fan. Too bad I'd be the only one voting in a Saints/Ed Kuepper poll.

I just did a bunch of edits and post deletions to make this thread a lot easier to scroll through in case anyone cares about rereading it. Where it was just the master list, I've deleted the post, and where there was other chat, I've edited the list out. I didn't start messing with it until posts from August, when the list started getting long and unwieldy.

I agree with this, and ditto Miles. I'll probably expand ballots to 30 tracks for him and results to 75-80.

i think that for the bee gees it'd be fun to allow gibb bros songs recorded by folks other than the BGs. for dylan that would become a mess really quickly, though.

Would it be OK to put the 'up-to-date list' on the first message? I know it's a bit 'naughty' but when the list goes into the 'Skipping' void, we end up either having to ask for the list to be reposted, or load 1000+ messages and scrolling through.

That's a thought...I'd rather not do it that way, but it's a thought. It's a bit more of a pain to edit posts than to submit them. I'll try to remember to keep an updated revised list on the outside of The Void, but if I forget and the list keeps dropping in, your suggestion is a good one.

Had a brief thought that a ballot poll of live albums might be interesting, but the results might be a little predictable. Whadda y'all think?
