I'd imagine it would be constantly bumped by people who want to talk about The Kinks, so start date matters very little.

Yeh, start date is less crucial than closing date/amt of time polls are open.

I dunno. I <heart> S-K more than any other grrl group, but mainly because I haven't really researched further into the genre. I was figuring on doing S-K (about 90 songs) and offshoots/prehistory/posthistory involving Tucker or Brownstein (Excuse 17, Heavens To Betsy, Cadallaca etc.).

Someone should do an Australian tracks (or albums? or bands??) poll, cos there could be a good amount a variety without there being a completely insane amount of choice (at least not for a non-specialist like me). Think the results could be quite unpredictable (?)

Think Nick Cave would sweep just because of familiarity. Actually a Nick Cave poll would be interesting (I'm not volunteering for this one).

Australia could easily have its own poll, but I'm not sure NZ could...it would be more fruitful to poll them together.

Not necessarily -- there's usually been a day or two of overlap. I hope you get a good turnout! I don't know diddly about DM myself.

Sure, you're in at 55. I'll add you next time I post the whole list. I don't want to post the whole thing too often -- makes scrolling through it all obnoxious.
