'faith' feels like three songs mashed into one

There were songs on the Kelly Rowland album that sounded like "Faith"? Cause "Faith" is incredible and that album was boring as fuck, "Motivation" aside.

was kind of thinking how the little 'dance-floor buildup' a la we found love was not really necessary in 'faith'

xp yeah, but also in just how motorik the percussion is, just a kind of military stomp

like I'm not quite sold on the anthemic second half when the synths and kickdrum come in...but maybe that'll come

OK, at home now listening to the album. At Automatic, seems like the track sequence is really perfect.

I'm hanging in there for Faith and Scripture based on comments here, although it's still great to hear Black Lipstick and Changes again this way!

'automatic' has that same sort of nonapologetic vibe of 'runway', it's great

It's interesting that Dawn runs with that superman/superhero/invincible/bulletproof narrative so much given I think a big part of her voice's appeal is how she can sound so much on the verge of tears while still singing really well. "Change" is an excellent example of the latter quality.

true, i'm finding it kinda hard listening to this in the sunshine thinking "jeez cheer up brandy"

jokes aside tho the record is impeccable

hope + pray for an extended version of 'heaven' somewhere down the line for the full quentin harris experience

i'm kind of weary of all the superhero-themed lyrics on both tapes.
