i have been told BY THE INTERNET so it is true that this is from a pile of beats diplo gave AB to freestyle over when he was getting to know her, was not intended for mass consumption necessarily

with people e-mailing tracks back and forth and posting them to soundcloud as soon as they're done etc. honestly this kind of thing is just going to inevitably become more and more common. but again diplo has done very little to make people not assume the worst when there's any confusion about authorship in things with his name on it.

had high hopes for Azealia, but I haven't really dug any of her shit aside from "212". actually, her Interpol cover isn't bad either.

i quite dislike her. the guntalk on this record is not very becoming, and as brainwasher pointed out to me, its odd for someone to diss nicki minaj on twitter than bite her style from a few years back so completely

I don't get the adulation tbh. I don't think she's terrible but the only thing I find really distinctive or interesting about her is that she said "cunt" 5000 times in "212".

Guys I read recently that in Jamaica producers reuse each others' beats all the time but that it's ok because its is a culturally acceptable practice and the beats are called "riddims."

doesn't seem significantly different to me than a lot of popular, even top 40 music stylistically unless you want to quibble about whether certain females playfully rapping over modern dance beats are more of a pop style than others
