Mac hasn't really changed. One thing I admire is the flexibility of his rap skills and that is what's on display here rather than a complete genre flip. He can dive into a chill introspection, as he does quite often on this tape, or blast the kind of ego-driven power in songs like Loud/Smile Back/Party on 5th Ave. Quite frankly both are pretty fucking awesome.
