Wow, A Reality Tour is really, really good. I don't expect much from live albums, but DB's in great voice and the band gives it everything. Might have to find a copy of the DVD.

Steamtable Willie (WmC), Thursday, 1 March 2012 04:00 (fourteen years ago)

i will vote in this for sure. haven't heard all of his later stuff, but have a very firm idea of which songs and reinventions really get under my skin.

charlie h, Thursday, 1 March 2012 04:05 (fourteen years ago)

korneulez otm re "win". i came up with a ballot but having not heard several of his albums in full, i can't vote in good conscience.

If I were 65, could look back at a really well-regarded 45-year body of work, had had emergency angioplasty within the last few years, had was financially set for the rest of my life, was married to Iman, and had a young daughter, I'd settle back and enjoy the rest of my years without thinking about work too.

How to live!

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Thursday, 1 March 2012 04:45 (fourteen years ago)

ok sent my ballot

i'm kind of obsessed with "strangers when we meet" now

ciderpress, Thursday, 1 March 2012 07:11 (fourteen years ago)

I think since his heart surgery he's basically not been well enough to tour or do much recording any more, which is a shame as those last two studio albums have some great stuff on them.

Jamie_ATP, Thursday, 1 March 2012 09:42 (fourteen years ago)

He got hit in the eye by a fork or something thrown from the crowd during one of his last gigs too, you can't blame him for sacking it after that.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 1 March 2012 09:47 (fourteen years ago)

Now both his eyes look the same

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Thursday, 1 March 2012 09:49 (fourteen years ago)

It was a lollipop.

It was a lollipop, in Oslo in 2004. Geir's never forgiven him for going drum & bass.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 1 March 2012 09:54 (fourteen years ago)

Lollipop under the eyelid is one Bowie look that'll never catch on

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Thursday, 1 March 2012 09:56 (fourteen years ago)

The return of the Thin White Duke, throwing darts lollipops in lover's Bowie's eye.

the feeling is surreal (snoball), Thursday, 1 March 2012 09:58 (fourteen years ago)

i'm kind of obsessed with "strangers when we meet" now

there was a period when I endured the same affliction

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 1 March 2012 10:52 (fourteen years ago)

I have submitted a ballot. My first ever in one of these, I think.

Geir's never forgiven him for going drum & bass.

Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Thursday, 1 March 2012 17:02 (fourteen years ago)

Down to 29 tracks, God only knows how I'll get it to 20. (That won't feature btw).

Sent!

nate woolls, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:06 (fourteen years ago)

Hmmm, forgot how many songs from Hunky Dory I love. Trying to cover bases, but certainly looking very 70s-centric.

grandavis, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:06 (fourteen years ago)

Going through my 70s albums, "Fascination" is my big rediscovery thus far. My kind of Coke jam.

Mike Love Costume Jewelry on Etsy (C. Grisso/McCain), Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:08 (fourteen years ago)

having just listened to the entirety of Bowie's output from 1970-1983 over the last few weeks (I'm going through the family vinyl collection alphabetically) this is pretty much impossible and my ballot's going to be really random. it will not, however, include anything post-1983 lol

be scientific, douchebag (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:12 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, "Fascination" was a song I had forgotten about as well. May not make my ballot, but it's on the list right now.

grandavis, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:16 (fourteen years ago)

anybody gonna stan for "Win"...? Beck obviously loved it lol.

be scientific, douchebag (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:18 (fourteen years ago)

It's on my list.

nate woolls, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:20 (fourteen years ago)

always figured the similarities had to be intentional

every time I listen to another Bowie album I feel like I have to completely redo my ballot

silverfish, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:34 (fourteen years ago)

Was just gonna post that while "Fascination" is cool, I think "Win" is my winner from Young Americans!

grandavis, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:36 (fourteen years ago)

Uggh, "Win" ... "winner". Wasn't even intentional. Too much computer.

grandavis, Thursday, 1 March 2012 21:37 (fourteen years ago)

"I'm duh winnah!"

Feebs K-Tel (NickB), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:08 (fourteen years ago)

I can vote again if you need me to.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 2 March 2012 16:09 (fourteen years ago)

will send mine today

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:12 (fourteen years ago)

xp - no, I'll probably start tabulating tomorrow or Sunday. Just from glancing at the ballots as they come in, there's one huge easy-to-spot trendline, but that's all I'll say.

Steamtable Willie (WmC), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:12 (fourteen years ago)

It's all those votes for Little Drummer Boy isn't it?

Feebs K-Tel (NickB), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:18 (fourteen years ago)

What – "Day-In Day Out" is leading?

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:18 (fourteen years ago)

Tin Machine dominating the albums poll?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 2 March 2012 16:19 (fourteen years ago)

Mostly 70's stuff?

the feeling is surreal (snoball), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:21 (fourteen years ago)
