if i had to guess, it'd be that these outlets must be taking a punt on kreayshawn being a good long-term bet to stick around in the public eye - and for that not necessarily to involve her music (whereas you can imagine AZB, if she doesn't cross over fully, just ending up being someone music people care about)

also, hacks and their clueless editors drooling over a juicy 'angle'

well i mean she got to some mainstream outlets pretty quickly -- she was showing up on the VMAs and my local mainstream R&B station within the first 3 months of blowing up on youtube. i just didn't think the publicity train would keep rolling this far without either a) the song become an actual bona fide pop hit or b) a steady stream of more new music, neither of which has happened.

this was more a joke about lol no one watches SNL than a serious inquiry into the relative popularity based on SNL appearances or w/e thus the sarcastic follow up post but keep up the good fight
