"A presentation of Kraftwerk’s historical audio and visual material is on view at MoMA PS1, April 10–May 14, 2012."
Sort of curious about it. Nothing on their site yet though.

― bene_gesserit, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:03 (fourteen years ago)
i bet if you had a good enough novelty costume you could walk right in. people would just assume you were good to go.
― Z S, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:06 (fourteen years ago)
Wow, what a tremendously fucked-up thing to do. How would the ticket company not catch that?

seriously though, protip free of charge: don't go onto a thread full of people that tried and failed to get one ticket so you can str8 brag about the friend that cheated the system to get 30 tickets

For the record, I was not one of Fauxmarc's dickfriend's 30 robot recipients! My girlfriend logged on right at noon (I had to be away from my computer) and got us tix after a long wait, and being kicked off like twice... I couldn't believe it, and the shock deepens as I keep discovering just how many people tried and didn't get them. Sorry for everyone, and I wish my apartment was big enough to house you all for the big Kraftwerk LP listening party I'm throwing for my "IRL" pals that weekend (none of whom got in either).
― Clarke B., Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:42 (fourteen years ago)
When I rule the world I will outlaw online bookings and make people wait in line at the box office for tickets. This is the only system that even begins to make sense. I remember when ppl used to camp outside box offices for 24 hours to be in line for Springsteen and U2 tickets, if you were prepared to do that you got your tickets. Obviously it would mean that people who can't get to the box office would lose out but I think something has to give.
― ban this sick stunt (anagram), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:43 (fourteen years ago)
tickets should just be auctioned
― iatee, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:45 (fourteen years ago)
artists would make more money
people camp out in front of the apple store to buy iphones - but not for concert tickets. welcome to the future
― geeta, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:45 (fourteen years ago)
Anagram, I totally agree. People should have to sweat a little for the really difficult-to-get tickets. I hope the Iron Maiden shows in May don't have the same ridiculous crunch/failure rate--although given that they're playing small arenas, I doubt that...
― Clarke B., Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:50 (fourteen years ago)
iron maiden at MoMA = urgent and key
― geeta, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:54 (fourteen years ago)
apple creates reasons for people to camp out so it'll get on the news. some random show isn't gonna get media attention if some people are camping out all night, so it'd just be meaningless inconvenience.
― iatee, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:56 (fourteen years ago)
tempted to call BS on the 30 ticket story
or if true, good luck rolling up to the will call to claim those
― dmr, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 21:31 (fourteen years ago)
i know at least a few majordomo music types who are lamenting on facebook that they couldn't score either
― little clouds of citrus spritz as i peel (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 21:33 (fourteen years ago)
pretty sure the 30 ticket story is bs...have heard it repeated across the web but no one has any details

more like fauxfauxmarc
― max, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 21:42 (fourteen years ago)
if it's true there's no way the person won't get caught since they are blabbing so much about it...so at least there's that.
― bene_gesserit, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 21:45 (fourteen years ago)
