Funny cos I don't really get the love for THAT partic song either, but the rest of the release is an extremely fun listen.

For me it's Jamaican Slang > Haiti Slang

skipped ahead to "jamaican slang" because i was finding it unlistenable, the beat's better but his voice is THE WORST THING, mouth full of teeth and horrible attempts at singing

Curtains is the track Ive played most this year.

i love 'haiti slang' it's creepy and weird and i love how he contorts his voice around.

other tracks i'm feeling on that tape 'i know', 'bonjour', 'who's on top', 'keep in touch' (altho that weird vocal sample in the background is offputting), 'fuck my tattoos', 'curtains'

still have't really listened to the 2nd half properly

i stopped listening 4 tracks in i was hating it so much

holy shit, "Cold Facts" by KA is amazing...goddamn that's ice cold shit.

honestly too the track is amazing, a real interesting way to flip a classic NYC production style, it's almost like the producer just started making the first bar of a beat and then decided to leave it, and the minimalism makes it sound so spooky and new even though the actual sample and drums are pretty trad in and of themselves

when i think of "gossip folks" i think of the awesome beat, missy impersonating a screeching car and switching her voice up, and the child dancers in the video, way before anything that is in "haiti slang"

he mumbles aimlessly and cannot rap, like asap rocky

i'd refine my criticism more but that would mean listening to young thug again

the first comparison pt i thought of w/ haiti slang was gucci's "ima star"

fwiw 'haiti slang' is obviously a curveball on the record & not representative of the sound he usually has

the mixtape is really reminiscent of wayne in between carter II and carter III, but if someone actually set out to replicate the innate weirdness of that era instead of just being like "gotta get me that autotune!" which is fair or unfair is part of wayne's legacy
