― J0rdan S., Friday, 10 February 2012 20:39 (fourteen years ago)
Damn, too much shit for me to keep abreast of. *goes to DatPiff* Is it any good?
― "I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Friday, 10 February 2012 20:40 (fourteen years ago)

― flopson, Friday, 10 February 2012 23:46 (fourteen years ago)
eh i was underwhelmed
― D-40, Saturday, 11 February 2012 04:28 (fourteen years ago)
yeah i don't remember it being much of anything
that was a pretty rough time for gucci
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 February 2012 04:29 (fourteen years ago)
first track is great on that imo
― pandemic, Saturday, 11 February 2012 11:43 (fourteen years ago)
i am realizing that there were a lot of old gucci mixtapes I never dug into. looks like datpiff doesn't have most of em tho (think j0rd said his managers pulled em down)? filestube here we go then.
tempted to d/l the new one but I'm at the point where I have too much new hip hop to listen to and i just wanna let what I have in front of me marinate first. datpiff ain't goin nowhere
― Bo Jackson Overdrive, Saturday, 11 February 2012 14:49 (fourteen years ago)
well, a bunch of his classic tapes were taken down from datpiff by grayzone inc, which is fucking insane and stupid
― D-40, Saturday, 11 February 2012 18:34 (fourteen years ago)
http://grayzone.com/index.php
very cool and professional logo
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 11 February 2012 19:00 (fourteen years ago)

― pre-tennis ball head-era chris brown (J0rdan S.), Friday, 24 February 2012 05:07 (fourteen years ago)

― Number None, Friday, 24 February 2012 05:08 (fourteen years ago)

― ⚓ (gr8080), Friday, 24 February 2012 16:06 (fourteen years ago)
seriously
― DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Friday, 24 February 2012 16:10 (fourteen years ago)
'trap back' has been downloaded from dat piff 340,015 times and streamed another 329,165 times since being put up on 02/05
seems... significant to me
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 March 2012 06:18 (fourteen years ago)
significant how? is that way more or way less than his recent tapes or his earlier classics or what?
― DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Thursday, 1 March 2012 14:12 (fourteen years ago)
it's a lot... three times as much as any other mixtape on datpiff for february, already one of the 30 most downloaded mixtapes in the history of the site
the numbers are a bit skewed since it was an "exclusive" to datpiff but for comparison the t.i. mixtape was posted on new year's day and has 245k downloads
the ross mixtape was posted on 1/6 and has 680k downloads
anyway i guess i have no idea if any of that means anything, just thought that a gucci mane mixtape in 2012 having 300k downloads in a month was a big number
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 March 2012 15:00 (fourteen years ago)
yeah it seemed like a big # but i didn't know what the basis of comparison was -- already almost twice as many downloads as Writings On The Wall 2 so definitely seems like building momentum
still haven't heard this tape yet, are any songs jumping off as hits or something?
― DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Thursday, 1 March 2012 15:58 (fourteen years ago)
i don't think so... just seems like a lot of hype around the tape in general
the leaks were strong and his people actually did a good job of building it up as a big comeback record
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 March 2012 16:04 (fourteen years ago)
no gucci comeback will ever be complete without a series of youtubes detailing his facial tattoo removal surgeries
― DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Thursday, 1 March 2012 16:09 (fourteen years ago)
I also think Trap Back has benefited from being quite a good record, with dudes like Mike Will giving Gucci their best beats. It's probably my most listened to rap record this year, by far.
― "I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Thursday, 1 March 2012 19:53 (fourteen years ago)
Production on this tape is off the hook.
― MikoMcha, Friday, 2 March 2012 08:37 (fourteen years ago)
the beat for 'brick fair' is gorgeous. zaytoven at his most melodic
― art dealin' thru the west coast (tpp), Friday, 2 March 2012 10:05 (fourteen years ago)
definitely. It's a great tape and the production is a huge part
― Number None, Friday, 2 March 2012 16:11 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah, the beat on "Brick Fair" is insane. Gorgeous stuff from Zaytoven.
― "I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Friday, 2 March 2012 16:36 (fourteen years ago)
Plain Jane deserves a mention as well.
― MikoMcha, Friday, 2 March 2012 18:22 (fourteen years ago)
