i've been playing the 'sam young remix' (whatever that is--i think it might just be some dude's version using that original one minute clip--for a few weeks now and love it a lot. this official version isn't quite as exciting.

basically just the latest official releases i'm not feeling too much... this, "radio" and "sound of love" iirc. i like all 3, but when i have "turn the lights off" and "my house" in my life, my standards for cassie are much higher than this.

'turn the lights off' and 'my house' feel like a universe away at this point.

that period in 2008 when every track that leaked was a total banger.

the 2009 stuff never gelled with me as much, besides stamina. Keep On Lovin' Me is good, but feels less 'Cassie' than the earlier stuff for some reason.

i mean i like it but i thought cassie's comeback would be more... undeniable. like when the short preview clip came out i thought for whatever reason that the full song would reveal so much more... when in reality it basically ended up showing everything the song had to offer

"King of Hearts" has great production for an R&B pop-dance banger but putting Cassie on a track like this just makes her sound even more like the kind of barely-there singer they would have used if this actually was a euro tune.

like "got that good" bangs but it's basically a "gimmie dat" retread so WHY try that again
"sorry" is aight but it sounds so desperate in its attempt to reclaim that "promise" magic
whereas "sophomore" and "livin' it up" were both legit incredible and hooky and not like stuff you've done before so OF COURSE you don't bother to release them
