The hipster hop crossover (not to be confused with the blogo thundercat rappers, an embarrassment in their own right, but honestly not even worth acknowledging at this point - I am talking 808s, “Swagger Like Us”, “Brooklyn Go Hard”, Jim Jones rhyming over MGMT, etc.) of 2009 will be looked back on as one of the lowest points in hip hop. Lower than snap hop and hip house and all that

t.i.'s uh "selling out" doesn't seem a permanent or irreversible thing though, just trend-hopping

what other rap stars are there right now besides young jeezy

t.i. WAS arguably the biggest rap star circa king but now his pop songs are worse and so is his rapping - jeezy's just as successful now as he was and he's done it on his own terms - as far as rap goes as an intersection between an art form and a commercial business i don't see anyone more vital to the game than jeezy

Internationally, i don't think ppl don't care about jeezy or t.i., it's all about 'Ye and has been since at least Late Registration. And maybe fiddy if they still care about him in 2009 ("I Get It In" dropped today).

I know you're intersecting success with ppl you rate, therefore those guys don't apply, but just saying re:stardom. Anyways...

@Matt upthread, yeah High Powered is on the album, has been around for a bit. Really good. Took me a while to like it tho, and i don't think the video does anything for it.
