xp to omar there's gotta be a subset of 30-ish guys who have a little money and think it's so rad to have that stuff on vinyl

Woah. Surprised.

Suede - the fabric, not the band (DL), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:20 (fourteen years ago)

i originally upthread thought katy b would win until i remembered beyonce had an album out that everyone on ilm seemed to love. but with uncle acid in the top 10 there might be enough pj voters after all.

ok wow

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:20 (fourteen years ago)

Big points jump there.

pandemic, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

beyonce's gotta shave those pits imo

omar little, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

wow, stats for the next 3 are going to be crazy

rob, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

if destroyer isnt up next the lex would be shitting himself if he was here

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

You know, the two things that totally knocked me out in the tracks poll was the Blawan track and Beyonce's 'Countdown'. There's been this trend in r'n'b/pop lately to incorporate loads of big trance rushes and breakdowns and it's never done anything for me, but this is how you make a fucking pop song. I was spellbound by her Glastonbury performance when I watched it on telly earlier this year, and now I have 4 and am very much looking forward to checking it out properly.

Prediction: Destroyer won't place

Sounds Of The Baskervilles (dog latin), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

Interesting! I was expecting Beyoncé to be top two.

emil.y, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

destroyer will def place

omar little, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

destroyer at #1

≧^◡^≦ moon dayo (diamonddave85), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

that's a really crappy album cover on the beyonce.

Sounds Of The Baskervilles (dog latin), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

without being arsed to go to the respective threads now I got the impression that a lot more US posters dug the PJ album than the Katy B album, which seems like it should be a p big factor

bs and 'Why Do You Listen To Frog?' (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:24 (fourteen years ago)

Glad to see 4 @ 4.

Gonjasufjanstephen O'Malley (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:24 (fourteen years ago)

this whole thread is like an object lesson "how to not make an album cover," beyonce really one of the lesser offenders

lana del rey: everythang's workin' (some dude), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:24 (fourteen years ago)

Is Beyonce at 4 in both polls? It's a pretty fucking patchy album with so many unbelievably stupid bits - 'I Miss You', "tears falling down to my ears", that godawful ballad at the end when she's basically going "ME ME ME ME ME" for four minutes, fucking SWAGU. But then the rest of it is straight up amazing - Love On Top, End Of Time, Countdown, Schoolin' Life, Rather Die Young, Lay Up Under Me, all top drawer. If a bit more thought had gone into sequencing and track selection it could well have been my #1.

Matt DC, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:24 (fourteen years ago)

what's her best album, MAtt?

Sounds Of The Baskervilles (dog latin), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:25 (fourteen years ago)

4

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:25 (fourteen years ago)

my favorite covers are probably the more boomkatty ones like grouper or julianna barwick and also the revenue retrievin twofer

omar little, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:25 (fourteen years ago)

4, actually.

Matt DC, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:26 (fourteen years ago)

see the KC & JH album's got a good cover (I have a signed copy on my wall, I know, I know) that's why it didn't place.

Sounds Of The Baskervilles (dog latin), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:27 (fourteen years ago)

basically if you put "Crazy In Love", "Ring The Alarm" and "Get Me Bodied" on 4 you would have my platonic ideal of a Beyonce album

16 for Tropical 2!

Tim F, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:27 (fourteen years ago)

"keeps"? last couple were 2 years apart and before that he was averaging an album every 3-4 years

lana del rey: everythang's workin' (some dude), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:28 (fourteen years ago)

Going back to Kate Bush, I only really love the first three tracks of 50 Words For Snow, but all of the rest have at least one awesome thing going on in them (but not enough for me to vote for it).

Phibes Kartel (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:28 (fourteen years ago)

Matt DC, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:30 (fourteen years ago)

OK so now it's a head-to-head between my #1 and some bullshit.

Suede - the fabric, not the band (DL), Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:30 (fourteen years ago)

if Destroyer wins I'll even listen to it. If it doesn't I shouldn't bother, right?

C'mon PJ!

Only ILM could make an album about the horrors of war across several continents and an entire century into 'lol britishes',

Matt DC, Thursday, 2 February 2012 20:33 (fourteen years ago)

Alex Salmond thinks it should be Mogwai
